Bernard Smith | 3030 comments It does. The child is actually a boy, but I used poetic licence to transform him into Ms Hood.

Both headline and poem were equally formidable. The poem painted a more grotesque picture. Gosh! What has the world come to?

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments The world is full of bad and sad things. But as it is the only one we have, we should make the best of the good and happy things.

Is it the only one we have spacebot? Elon makes us think again...
Back on point...we seem to have some sick ideologies out there. Hope the kids are sorted.

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments It is the only one I have access to. Musk, Bezos and Branson may have access to others.

Of course one may invent and inhabit an imaginary world. This is considerably cheaper than travelling to another real world.

Imaginary worlds are even more dangerous!

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments They can be if one stays in them too. long. I make sure I return to the real one frequently.

Of course the spacebot is a seasoned intergalactic wanderer. We bots stay put.

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments Regarding the ideologies, many teenagers adopt one quite different to that of their parents. Fortunately most do not choose an extreme one, and get involved in criminal activity.

Ross Eberle | 15 comments Hi there!

For those of you here, who don't know me yet, my name is Ross Eberle. Ray Eberle is my grandfather. You can find an article about him on Wikipedia over here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Eberle ...Check him out if you want.

Though I am by no means bragging about who I'm related to. I am in my 30's, and have come here to gain at least a few more friends and followers. I'll gladly get to know you, of course.

Cheers from Ross! \o/

P.S. Where can I go to make friends in this group?

Thanks for sharing Ross. Best wishes on your find a friend mission. I must warn you our group members are very reticent. :)))

The British queen? When did that happen??

message 1315: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments When? Well, Queen Cynethryth died circa 800 AD. Doctor Gabor and his team worked I assume this year. It has taken a long time to solve the mystery, but better late than never.

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments I spent the day wrestling with my GR password problem. But now I am in again. Hooray! But it is just one battle in the long war between carbon and silicon.

message 1322: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments It was metaphorical wrestling. It seems my password was compromised, so I tried to change it as advised. But this was not as easy as I hoped!

message 1326: by Bernard (new)

UN peacekeepers were sent to Haiti to help a country in crisis. But some of them exploited local women and fathered children they would go on to abandon.

Years later, the families they left behind are desperate for support. https://t.co/dvDVUVulmS

message 1332: by Chris (new)

Chris Sifniotis (chrissifniotis) | 20 comments For some quick context; Djoser is a Third Dynasty king of Egypt. This is the Old Kingdom period, well before the golden age of Egypt, well before a lot of staples and images of the Nile had formed.
Like many others, his most famous monument is his own resting place, a step pyramid tomb, which was built before the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Djoser did very little of interest to be honest, did some mining, did some building, did some military deployment but not war. He’s a surprisingly mediocre ruler.

The #FreeBritney movement has drawn worldwide attention to US guardianships.

A BuzzFeed News investigation found that the system, which controls the lives of more than a million people, can be dehumanizing, dangerous, and even deadly.
