All boundaries must run somewhere. Libraries and other buildings should be sited on either one side or the other.

Some very famous leaders have been ardent supporters of boundary walls.

message 1054: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments Like at Jericho? The important thing is to draw the boundary in the right place.

Metaphorically speaking boundaries are good. Well saved!

But Jericho? No recent recollections ancient human? ;)

message 1056: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments I believe Jericho is still there. But I presume you mean something more recent ....

Ah! Could it be Prez Trump and his proposed wall to keep the Mexicans out?

Ha,ha. Just testing. EVE has always been.

message 1066: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments Perhaps Eve was scapegoated for the bad business with the serpent and the apple. As Lady Salisbury said of Adam: "A shabby fellow indeed!".

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments The Gnostic version is that the wisdom of Sophia was breathed into Adam and Eve, and then the serpent gave Eve gnostic knowledge.

Lady S was a colourful aristocrat of the 18th century.

Rowing is of course a healthy activity. But they should be careful of the crocodiles.

Archaeologists have unearthed ancient mummies in Egypt with "amulets of gold foil in the form of a tongue" placed in the mouths. This, they believe, was a special ritual to ensure the dead could speak to the court of the god Osiris in the afterlife. https://t.co/zbZB7s2ynd

Elie N. Azar (elienazar) | 20 comments I always had this question in mind,

Did you ever apologize to someone for loving them too much?

Do you, at times, feel like you're just being too much that you have to apologize? Or, are you a firm believer that you should never apologize to anyone, including yourself, for having a genuine heart, and for loving deeply and widely?

What a perfect question for this season!
There are all kinds of love Elie. Possibly not the same one experienced by each person simultaneously. It's lucky if you can connect perfectly, if not perhaps keep loving from a distance without an apology?

I honestly have a hard time whenever I try to love someone from a distance; But, to be honest, I rather keep a distance rather than to be with someone who'd make me feel guilty for who and for what I am. As you said, not everyone is supposed to tolerate our energy and we're supposed to connect with everyone, doesn't mean that we're too much or that we are, in any way, wrong.

Dear Elie, no one is worth fretting one's life over. Having said that what's 'loving widely'? Perhaps an apology is due after all.

I totally agree with you, had to learn it the hard way though.
To me, to love widely is to love without any limitations, to love someone in all of their states of mind, throughout their seasons and regardless. It takes a lot of love to be able to stay with someone and love deeply through it all.

To be honest, I'd never apologize for being unapologetically genuine to my own self and to how I express myself, nor for making the other person feel like it is too much. I would simply walk away whenever I feel that my heart is not welcomed anymore. I am a firm believer that not everyone is supposed to give us back the same energy we once gave or still give them, nor necessarily be appreciative or okay with who and with what we are.
