I found a Sandra Brown book I can read, but its only tagged "Brown" 9 times. Is that good enough for the genre task?

That was the only stipulation I saw in the rules, that the genre needed to be on the first page. Let me double check that it doesn't have a certain count...
I'm sorry to be asking so many questions...I swear I read the directions, but obviously not well enough!
No worries! Its always good to double check! there does not need to be a certain number of times tagged, it only needs to be on the first page.
It's the last one on the first page. I took a picture of it in case it changes and falls to the second. 😁

First Full Day of the 3rd WeekToday on this lazy, enjoyable Sunday I'm planning to read a little more of Crazy Rich Asians (I'm still at the beginning, for shame), start the second book in an Urban Fantasy series from a book I read the first week of this challenge (Storm Born), Thorn Queen. If my romance mood strikes I may start KJ Charles Band Sinister.
Hope it's a successful and enjoyable reading week for all. We have all the bonus words claimed on the planning sheet, and 6 words fully filled out with plans.
What book are you most looking forward to reading next?
I have Crazy Rich Asians on hold, as well as Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix - have to say those are the two most on my radar!
I'm about to start Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding and I'm pretty excited. A little worried it will be predictable but we shall see.
Cecily wrote: "I'm about to start Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding and I'm pretty excited. A little worried it will be predictable but we shall see."Hope you like it!
We have now completed our first spelling of Gravy and the 15 bonus points. Once a Y is finished, we will have two words complete. We have two bonuses complete. Great start.
Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* wrote: "We have now completed our first spelling of Gravy and the 15 bonus points. Once a Y is finished, we will have two words complete. We have two bonuses complete. Great start."Then I guess we're in luck because I JUST now posted my Y book! :)
I possibly won't be able to read Empire of Storms because my library messed up, I guess. I went in to ask about it because I've been waiting on it and Marnee (head librarian) said it was sent on the 1st and "should be here already" and that was Saturday. She reordered it for me so I just don't know if I'll get it this week or not.
Erin, I put a book in place of Empire of the Storms and moved that one to the bottom letter G because I just don't know when I'll get it...bummed because I am so ready to read that book! LOL But IF I get it today or tomorrow, I'll probably get it done for us.
Vicki wrote: "Erin, I put a book in place of Empire of the Storms and moved that one to the bottom letter G because I just don't know when I'll get it...bummed because I am so ready to read that book! If not this week, then next week will work.
It looks like Y is going to be our difficult letter. I will keep searching for hidden Y's in character names in the books I'm currently reading. As long as the character has a speaking role, they count. I'm glad they didn't restrict it to ONLY main characters.
I have many books to update on the spreadsheet I just haven't had a chance yet. I should when I get home from work today
Vicki wrote: "Main characters only would have been really difficult! Lol"Yes, too difficult/restrictive.
Cecily wrote: "I have many books to update on the spreadsheet I just haven't had a chance yet. I should when I get home from work today"Oooh, exciting. Will check back in tonight at the spreadsheet.
*rubs hands together gleefully*
Finished another "A" book, and I am going to start a "Y" book next. I am working at school with no students so I am listening while I work and its allowing for some great reading time! I used to be able to do this all the time and I realize how much I miss it! I'll take the chances I can.
Sorry guys, been a rough few days. I will get one logged today, hopefully two but it may be tomorrow. Good news one of them can be a Y or V!!

Looks like I'm going to be able to finish my huge book this week after all. I started it last night just to test it out and then ended up reading it for hours straight until after midnight, gave myself a small headache and then didn't get enough sleep. It was good though! Who ever said reading was good for sleep? Good books keep me up.
Teri wrote: "Sorry guys, been a rough few days. I will get one logged today, hopefully two but it may be tomorrow. Good news one of them can be a Y or V!!"I hope things are going a bit easier for you now, Teri, I know you've had a rough week :(
Hahaha Erin that is so true. Reading before bed never puts me to sleep lol I guess unless the book is crap!
Yes, so many sleep advice articles say read before bed, but do they discount if the book is so good you can't put it down??
The December BOM's have been announced

My True Love Gave to Me - Starts December 4, 2018
Mr. Dickens and His Carol - Starts December 16, 2018
Honestly, I'm not a fan of pure-out Christmas books besides classic children's tales. I joined for both BOM's for November, but I don't own either of these and they don't look like something I'd enjoy. I will probably skip the December BOM.
My library has Mr. Dickens and His Carol. can someone explain what I would need to do for BOM and when? Thanks!
Carrie wrote: "My library has Mr. Dickens and His Carol. can someone explain what I would need to do for BOM and when? Thanks!"Carrie, when reading it, you just have to answer three sets of daily questions. In this case, there are three sets, so you would just need to answer the three. You can look at the different Book of the month threads for examples if that helps you also. You have to read it in the month it's set in -- so, it would December in this case.

Neither of these looks too interesting to me. And kinda expensive. I'll check the library.
Awesome, thank you!I finished my 886 page book today, so that earned another 100. I'm going to start working on Crazy Rich Asians again. Good story but I'm still only 6% in, ugh.
Everyone's finished books from the spreadsheet and Books Read thread have been added. Right now our score for this week is 770.. We are only letter away from finishing another word.
It has finally gotten a little cold here since we had a cold front move in Florida. I'm excited and hope it lasts at least a week. Love cold days with sitting on my porch with a housecoat, hot tea and cozy socks.
I am on my phone so I can’t tell what letter we need but I just finished an R book that I don’t have on the SS. I’ll update when I’m home.
Carrie wrote: "Ice storm here in PA. Schools cancelled. Blah. I have some extra time to read though:)"Yikes, that's taking a cold front to too extreme level.
Vicki wrote: "I am on my phone so I can’t tell what letter we need but I just finished an R book that I don’t have on the SS. I’ll update when I’m home."Thank you, Vicki. I still have some to finish as well, so I'm hoping we get a few more words fully finished by Saturday cut-off.
I just realized that next week will be the word time we see the "I", that is counted as a difficult letter. Up until now, we haven't had an I in our word, while next week's will have two per spelling.
I still will be able to finish my books, all except Empire of the Storms because that STILL hasn’t arrived at my library. But my others I’ll get done.
I think next week will be the perfect time for me to finally read The Iron Fey series! I assume that will count for I and the article THE can be left out , right? There are several books in the series. :)
I have finished an R book because I had extra time since school was out. I know some places had a lot of snow, but where I live it only snowed for about 30 minutes and it was very light. There was no reason for school to be out, but I'm glad it was.
I don't think I'll get Crazy Rich Asians from the library in time to read this month. I'll be able to finish one book by the end of the week, but that's it. I agree - the December BOM's are not really on my radar.
It snowed all day, albeit lightly, on Monday. Today it was 65 degrees and sunshiny. I’ve been pretty busy this week but I’m working on a Storm of Swords which will be 100 points and hopefully I can get another book in too before the cutoff.
