Thanksgiving Words Can also use:
GRAVY BROWN
Not a huge help but at least we have two options.
I just did an update - looks like we had a good amount of books marked completed tonight. Great job everyone :)
Cecily wrote: "Just finished my "Y" book and starting another "Y" book that could also be used for "C""Excellent!!
That bumped us from 775 to 860 since it filled out another word completely =)
I should have A Clash of Kings done tomorrow which is another 80 points and Crazy Rich Asians done tomorrow too. I should also have Outlander done by the deadline which is another 100 points.
Jessi wrote: "I should have A Clash of Kings done tomorrow which is another 80 points and Crazy Rich Asians done tomorrow too. I should also have Outlander done by the d..."YASSSSS!!!!! Points, points Everywhere!
I love seeing us climb the ranks and we have some serious work to do to get to the top!!
Jessi wrote: "I should have A Clash of Kings done tomorrow which is another 80 points and Crazy Rich Asians done tomorrow too. I should also have Outlander done by the d..."Wow, wonderful. Thanks for all the hard work everyone =)
Cecily wrote: "I love seeing us climb the ranks and we have some serious work to do to get to the top!! "We do, but we're doing great and there are still a lot of weeks left. The challenge is definitely fun.
Friendly reminder guys, we can not add books to our spreadsheet if they are not on your wheel-a-thon shelf, so please check and make sure you've added them! Thanks!!
The Genre alternative to "gravy" is brown. We can ONLY use brown for the MPG. We need "gravy" for the other bonuses.
Great news, we finished another word and are at 1025 points right now. Great job, everyone! I won't be here during the day tomorrow, but Teri will cover the spreadsheet before the deadline.
Please have all books on the spreadsheet marked completed (that you want to complete) by 4 PM EST so we have time to move stuff around and submit by 5 EST
Erin, I have finally finished all of the answers to Crazy Rich Asians and added the links to our SS. I would have had them done on Wednesday, but she didn't post the questions until today and we were on the road. No way was I doing them on my cell. LOL You need everything posted tomorrow by 3:00 or so EST was it?

That is awesome! 1025 ain't too shabby! :)
Finished another "Y" book. If I start a book this week but I don't finish it in time, can I use it towards a letter for next week?
I am working on an "N" book but it is a bit of a longer one.
I have the same question, Cecily because I have 2 books still to read for this challenge but only have until 1:00 my time tomorrow. I know I'll finish one, but not positive about the other because of some morning obligations but I hate not to finish a letter in case it makes a huge difference. I want to know IF I don't finish one of my books (it would be
Homegoing for letter Y, will that mess up how many words we can complete? I can also use it for next week since the author's last name is Y and we have GRAVY.
Sorry all! It’s been a crazy week and I only managed to finish one book so far. Don’t know if I’ll have a chance to get a second one by tomorrow’s deadline. Hopefully next week I’ll have more free time!
Vicki wrote: "Erin, I have finally finished all of the answers to Crazy Rich Asians and added the links to our SS. I would have had them done on Wednesday, but she didn't post the questions until..."Thanks Vicki, you are all good for the 20 bonus points for the BOM
The deadline is by 4 pmish tomorrow so Teri can make sure to have spreadsheet done (I won't be back until 6-7)

Yes, it would work for next week's, as long as it is finished once the new week starts (Saturday night after 5 pm)
Vicki wrote: "I have the same question, Cecily because I have 2 books still to read for this challenge but only have until 1:00 my time tomorrow. You can save it to finish for Gravy if you'd like and if that works out better.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* wrote: "Vicki wrote: "Erin, I have finally finished all of the answers to Crazy Rich Asians and added the links to our SS. I would have had them done on Wednesday, but she didn't post the q..."Thanks, I'll see if I can do both books.
Sounds great. We are two letters off from finishing one more full spelling. Any books used in the first partial (incomplete) word after the last full spelling will still work for points for our total score.
The letters we need to finish the current word are R and N
Stacey, are you going to be able to finish Candy & Corn in time for the bonus?

Thank you - updated Stacey and Jessi's finished book this morning. I haven't left yet, leaving in about 40 minutes. We only have one letter left to finish the word - N, then any spares can go in the next uncompleted word for points. We really rocked it this week, everyone. Thanks for the hard reading work. Our score is currently 1240. It will bump up slightly when an N is added since the next three books on the second partial word will then count.
Vicki and Jessi finished the BOM this week for 40 additional points total. I'm planning to read and finish Crazy Rich Asians next week, didn't have time to finish it this week, but I did get five other books done. You both are inspiring and raced past me!
If I'm looking at all this the right way, then I will submit week 2 in about 3 hours! We rocked it!! There is an issue with one of the lines on the spreadsheet, I have contacted the MODS and it seems we are not the only one with this issue (it wasn't calculating points for one book). I will finish one in about an hour and add and then I think I am done. Just remember to add to your wheel-a-thon shelf anything you finish in the next little bit and I'm ready for week 3!
I can do Rosemary's Gravy by Melissa F. Miller for gravy (I put it on the planning sheet for the bonus for cover or title) as well as R for letter in gravy. It's short so I can get it down quickly. When do we officially start week 3 on EST?
Stacey wrote: "Is there an easy way to go about finding gravy or brown as a genre? Or do we just have to hunt?"I'm curious about this as well. I went to the genre search and placed typed in gravy and got 3 very strange hits. When I typed in Brown, I kept getting books by Dan Brown and Sandra Brown. When I pull their books up, brown is tagged by many users. Does that mean they count for the genre?
Carrie wrote: "I can do Rosemary's Gravy by Melissa F. Miller for gravy (I put it on the planning sheet for the bonus for cover or title) as well as R for letter in gravy. It's short so I can get it down quickly...."5pm eastern standard time I believe.
Browse, All genres, search brown or gravy. Then it gives a list of books. A lot of them are Dan Brown books or Sandra Brown books. Click on a book, on the book's page the genres are listed on the right hand side, click on "See top shelves", then see if brown (or gravy) is on that first page. The trick is finding one that will also fit into the word GRAVY. I found a book with brown on the first page but I have no idea yet if there is a character in it that would work for the spell-it-out.

I posted
my last book for the week on the SS. I had one book I moved to next week, so hopefully that didn't mess any words up or any major points. I actually read the version posted here but it showed the Kindle version for page points. I read 320 but Kindle version showed 303, I think. I doubt it makes a difference but thought I'd let you know because I had duplicate books on it so I had to delete one. I deleted the version I hadn't actually read but that's the one that showed my progress. Don't know if any of that makes sense, but I finished it. LOL
I just finished my "R" book, that I wasn't able to finish in time from last week. It took me longer as well because boy did it suck. Taking one for the team lol (624 Pages)
Cecily wrote: "I just finished my "R" book, that I wasn't able to finish in time from last week. It took me longer as well because boy did it suck. Taking one for the team lol (624 Pages)"Put it as our first official book for week 3 - sorry the book sucked, but thanks for the nice point start =)
Teri rocked covering the spreadsheet today for me, thank you again Teri =)

Great, once we get a Y up we will have another word complete.
I seriously doubt I'll be able to finish Crazy Rich Asians this week since I will not be able to read Saturday - will have to save for next week. Plan to finish another large book tomorrow instead, and finished a 405 page tonight.
