Yeah, the W's ended up being our hardest letter I think. I had one book in the R category that I moved to a W Category to complete a word.
Update
Once the last book from Jessi is complete, we will have EIGHT completed Crows --- I reserved the slot on the spreadsheet even though not complete yet to make sure it's part of a completed word. That will also be 4 finished bonuses, great job everyone :)
And of course we may be able to slip in another spelling of Crow or two, time will tell tomorrow. We started the challenge off strong.
Erin, I finished a C book and put it on the SS. I read
I started reading
and I can either finish it this morning or I can save it for week 2. Which one would be better to day?

That may be the wrong advice, if it is, I'm so sorry. But we only have a couple of hours left and based on the planning sheet, it doesn't look like we'll get another crow in. Erin? Do you see anything that I am missing?
I'm going to switch over and finish the O because it looks like Cecily may be finishing a W...I will finish the W if I can after the OIf everyone can make sure they have added their reads and updated their shelves, that would be great! I will start double checking everything soon. Been an awesome week!

I'm not sure on Beautiful Masterpiece yet. We have another R need, but someone else may fill that as well. It's up to you with this one.

We may not finish another full crow though - Os and Ws seem to be in higher demand at this time.

It has definitely been an awesome week. :) I have Jessi's bonus book on the official spreadsheet even though it's not marked complete yet because we have to make sure it counts when marked done since that's our 50 point genre bonus. Otherwise we have until 6 PM EST to keep swapping books around before the captains lock us out.
Have you been able to access it yet, Teri?
Oh Erin! You're here! Yay! I still don't have access to the spreadsheet, and I was freaking out. Sorry I gave out bad advice, I will be done with an O book soon and I didn't see anything but Ws on the planning and I didn't know if it would be worth it to try and get an R when we didn't have the others set up, maybe I need a tutorial on this, not being a very helpful co-captain! But we have made awesome progress, I think!!!
We still get points for the books that are after the last fully completed word, it's just books that are after partial words wouldn't count.
Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* wrote: "We still get points for the books that are after the last fully completed word, it's just books that are after partial words wouldn't count."Even if it's not in order? Crap, I just reread that, you are right, my fault. Ugh. I swear I will get it together team!
I have posted in the captains group and asked the mods as far as access goes. I don't know, hopefully soon...
Im almost done with my book for the bonus. Just wanted to check in and let you know I am reading it and Im getting there! Now Im off to finish the book
I just finished my W book, but I am not home to update the spreadsheet but it has been rated and reviewed. Could someone please update that for me please :)I'm probably going to read a game of thrones book for the second round.
Teri wrote: "Vicki can you add Take me home to your wheel-a-thon shelf?"Did it! Sorry about that...had an appointment this morning and wanted to make sure I got it posted but was in a hurry. Forgot to add it to the shelf. Oops.
I added
because I realized that we can also use it for a W letter if needed. So that one is on this week's SS.Gotta run to a luncheon now. All books are added to the shelf. I'll have my cell phone if you have any questions.

We will be pros after this week lol
Jessi wrote: "Im almost done with my book for the bonus. Just wanted to check in and let you know I am reading it and Im getting there! Now Im off to finish the book"Great Jessi, thank you. We'll get a good boost of points when this is done.
I'm almost done with my Primordial book as well, working on that today.

Thanks Vicki :) You've been a big help this week too.

Awesome!! Thanks so much!!
We've just finished another word!! Not all the points from those books are showing yet - they will pop up when the bonus book Crow is finished and we'll get a nice boost.
Jessi wrote: "I'm done I'm done!!! Adding the book to my bookshelf now and will post in the books read thread!"Yay!!!!
Right now our points are -- 810
Adding yours in now will give us the 50 point bonus and make the next two words count
::::DRUMROLL:::::
We now shot to 990!
Great job, team!
I'm glad I wasn't aware of ALL the points that were depending on my book! I was already just a teeny bit stressed about finishing on time! Whew! Great week everyone!!

Thanks for finishing. I'm ready to start a new week and start fresh.
Anna wrote: "If I listen to an audiobook will it still count?"Yes it will.

I'm ready for a fresh start as well. Having trouble deciding what to read though.
I'm glad to see that we shot up in points but we still ended up 11th which surprises me. I'm also ready for a new week but it'll be harder because our word is twice as long, we have 2 people who didn't post any books at all, and I think we have our work cut out for us! I'm going on vacation with hubby Monday through Friday so doing my reading will be more difficult; however, I do plan to read the books I have posted with one possible exception because I still don't have my book and I'll have to read it next Friday night and Saturday morning unless I end up buying it.

Vicki I was surprised by the amount of points some the teams have. Hopefully they will have burned themselves out just a bit starting off that heavy in the first week. I'm going two attempt to chunksters this week. One on audio and the other on my kindle. I may not read as many books this week because of that but I'm hoping getting 200 pts for two books will work in our favor.

Yeah! I am going to try to read at least one chunkster a week with some smaller ones just to help fill the words but I am happy to get some of these off of my TBR that have been there for a while as they were always so daunting but now they have purpose!!
Thanks, Teri! Jessi, I agree, some teams kicked butt! And it didn’t help that we have 2 people that didn’t read. Hopefully they’ll read this week because with a nine letter word we’ll need all the books we can get! Lol
I only read one book, but I probably won't have as much school work next week and less things to do. I am planning to read a lot more next week.
I got a little more than halfway on A Feast for Crows ! So tired! Hopefully I am able to finish it tomorrow! Good Night!
Vicki wrote: "I'm glad to see that we shot up in points but we still ended up 11th which surprises me. Our team did a great job, especially for the first week. We had some smaller point books due to page count - I read a few of those myself, but we finished to about three short of filling out the entire spreadsheet. That's definitely something to be proud of. We finished 10 full Crows, all four bonuses, and I think worked well as a team.
But yep, I'm ready for a new week and restart =)
Cecily wrote: "I got a little more than halfway on A Feast for Crows ! So tired! Hopefully I am able to finish it tomorrow! Good Night!"
Those are good books but they take me forever to read. I read High Fantasy slow for some reason. I have read the first three of the series.

Both types count - reading multiple lower page or reading just one or two large page counts. Whichever you enjoy more, as long as you're reading one of them.
What two chunksters are you reading this week? Not asking for points sake, but being nosy.
Outlander and A Clash of KingsI typically read high and epic fantasies slow too but listening to those on audio at work is helping a ton! I hope I enjoy Outlander, the reviews seem pretty mixed so we shall see how it goes.

I didn't mean to sound negative but I was surprised with all the hard work that we ended up 11th. But there are those who are able to read 3-5 books in a day and probably teams whose members all showed up. But I think we have a lot to be proud of! And I am ready to kick butt this week!
I typically read books between 250-350 pages for challenges because I have several going at once, but I will try to fit in a larger book if I can. I only have to work a half day on Tuesday so yay! I may be able to read more that day
I work Monday through Friday so sometimes reading slows down a bit during the day, but it all depends on what's going on at home that day. I slept in and have some cleaning to do, and another small headache to get rid of, but plan to read a lot todayI have a book club meeting Tuesday night and definitely have to finish that particular book before then lol

Thank you Jessi, I marked it complete since I see you have it done.
I finished Storm Born tonight. I had to remove finishing Big Little Lies since I have a lot of it left, and want to concentrate finishing on my last book, Primordial, by tomorrow for a W Slot
I'll save Big Little Lies for an O for Week 2.
I have to bring in the car in the morning for a tire change, and we actually had a tornado today - seriously. It's been such a strange week in some ways.
I'm proud of our progress.
