The Last Ballad"
Thank you! (It also has a birth in the story so could be used as back-up.)
I'm also reading Goodbye, Things: The New Japanese Minimalism that also has a black title.
Teri wrote: "I will do Traitorous Toys for a book between 202 and 301, it has 278 pages. I am doing A Viking for Yule--I checked, it has "yule" in the text several times."
Sounds good, there's that annoying "Yule" task out of the way. I couldn't find anything when looking.
Jessi wrote: "I finished A Feast for Crows yesterday. Unfortunately I will not get Crown of Midnight before the deadline."Thanks for the big point bonus - that's okay, we can use Crown of Midnight to finish out next week for the points.

Teri wrote: "I just requested Fingersmith from the library for the book with gloves on the cover. it is 582 pages, if I can find something shorter, I will trade it out, otherwise I will read that..."Okay, sounds awesome! Thank you =)

What does read something sweet mean? My two books that I signed up for won't be in until Monday but I have Sweet Little Lies available. Does that count as something sweet or is it a genre tag?
Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* wrote: "Teri wrote: "The Courier for a form of transport...yes?"That should work fine since it's transport."
lol. right?! hahaha
Carrie wrote: "What does read something sweet mean? My two books that I signed up for won't be in until Monday but I have Sweet Little Lies available. Okay just to make sure I 100% understand how this bonus thing works.I am looking for books that fit the task but also fit the word "SCROOGE?"
If it does not fit "Scrooge" can I still read for it?
I just want to make sure I am accounting for everything.
Carrie wrote: "I can read Nature Girl for read a book with green text on the cover for 10 points."Sounds great, thanks!
Cecily wrote: "Okay just to make sure I 100% understand how this bonus thing works.I am looking for books that fit the task but also fit the word "SCROOGE?"

The two bonuses left for that is Scrooge on the Cover (would have to be a scrooge book to fit that) or else Dickens (That's a substitute word).
The second bonus left is SCROOGE or DICKENS is a tag on the first full page of tags for the book.
Okay, let's hope that this week doesn't run my reading life again. I am so sorry everyone, but I won't have two of my books completed. This is the first time I haven't gotten all of my books done. Life happened to me this week. Carrie, I am looking for a spot for
and I was wondering it you'd be willing to switch with me. I don't think we get individual points/badges, etc. but only team. I went to B&N yesterday to get my book and found the above for a dog that is MC. The entire story is told from the dog's POV so it works for that one but I don't think he was from a shelter. Your book would work for a form of transport on the cover, unless it has to be the entire car. Let me know, and if that's not doable for you I completely understand. I don't want to bump anyone. As I read maybe I can find another spot for it or just switch it out for another book. Erin, I moved my two books I didn't complete to this next week, so I'll be reading my butt off! The only thing I have somewhat planned, other than reading, is a dinner date with an ex-student in 10 minutes, so I'll try to make up for my two books this upcoming week. :)

Sorry, I meant, the spell it out. If you have a book that doesn't fit any one of those letters but it fits a bonus task, can you still read for it.
Vicki wrote: "Okay, let's hope that this week doesn't run my reading life again. I am so sorry everyone, but I won't have two of my books completed. I also plan to read more than I have the other weeks to get some of this done -- wish me luck and reading strength! :)
Natasha, you're a lifesaver too! You just finished your O book in perfect time to finish another completion of a word, was worried we couldn't get that one done. And it's a 60 pointer too.Thank you all - we have a little under one hour to get last minute updates in.
Also, I have claimed five bonus tasks so the list will definitely need to be updated lol So far I haven't had any that don't fit both.
Cecily wrote: "Also, I have claimed five bonus tasks so the list will definitely need to be updated lol So far I haven't had any that don't fit both."Great, thank you. I know we can do it and earn the 200 bonus points =)
I will post an update soon, will wait until we are fully finished with Week 5 on the spreadsheet (a little less than an hour).
Great reading as always, all! We're about to head in our last week. Exciting, but also a bit sad :/

I have 3 other books to work on lol.

Current Standings At the Start of Week 6
Overall Placement Points: 9th
This is the first week we finished under placement 10. We finished only 65 points from being in 8th place to end our fifth week.
Toughest Letters: 8 - We dropped one on this one
BOM Standing: 5 - We moved up one slot from 6th placement
Great job and a great start for the final week.

Happy Sunday all!We don't have a tab yet for our progress for our official spreadsheet, so I am not bothering with paying much attention to our team standing yet.
So far we have two finished books on the planning sheet.
These bonuses still need claimed:
◈Read a book where the characters get on a plane (10 Points)
◈Read a book with a dog on the cover (10 Points)
◈Read a book where the character has a dog who was a stray/came from a shelter (20)
◈Read a book with black boots on the cover (20)
◈For good girls and boys, there is some candy. Read something sweet --- Carrie, are you still wanting to take this with Sweet Little Lies?
I'll do read something sweet. Question: I'm doing the DQ's for
but I don't think there's going to be only 3 sets, but more like 6 or so. I'm adding my link on the BOM tab, but only have room for one more so how do you want me to handle it?Also, I read this book in December 2016, so I'm not sure how to show that I'm reading it again. I have the audio and book version, so I thought I'd use the audio but it still comes up as read and with my star rating. Suggestions?
Vicki wrote: "I'll do read something sweet. ."
Carrie claimed that one, but feel free to read whatever - if it doesn't fit a task, still counts for regular points.
As long as you put currently reading it should show the new dates when you finish it. As long as you just link three sets of questions we should be okay. They can check that you answered the other three if they want, the planning sheet is mainly for me just to make sure that you have answered some questions.
Cecily wrote: "I may be able to claim more, but I want to make sure I will be able to finish them."I'm in the same boat, we will see once the week is closer to an end.
Vicki, you can only use one book per title. You have Our Dark Duet under: Read a book with the name of at least 4 articles of clothing within the text
and
A book where a main character has a name in the top 20 dog names in Australia as per this website.
I'm going to remove it from the 4 clothing articles task, and put in for the australian names for now. We can fill in the others later.
Would Freckles work for the stray/shelter dog? From the description I wasn’t sure if I was pushing it or not
Vicki wrote: "Lol 😂 I KNEW I had it somewhere else but I’ll be darned if I could find it. Lol Thanks!"No problem, it's easy to double cross them sometimes lol
Teri wrote: "Would Freckles work for the stray/shelter dog? From the description I wasn’t sure if I was pushing it or not"To me that fits fine.
We have been doing very well trying to get as many books read as we can to start the week.Base Challenge
1 Word Complete - 15 Bonus Points Earned
3/4 Bonuses Claimed
2 BOM's being read (Stacey and Vicki)
Mini Challenge
Tasks Completed: 12
Mini Bonus Points Earned so Far: 390
Cecily wrote: "Finished my "E" book/Birth book. Now time for sleep!"Thanks, updated :0) I finished three yesterday, which for me is quite a bit, so I'm happy for my starting progress. Now to just keep up the momentum for this last week and not let myself get distracted.
I just finished a book I hadn't planned to read but can't find any bonuses for it except ones that are taken. I don't know if anyone wants to dump their book if they're reading just for the bonus and have me take the spot, but if so these are the people and tasks I can replace IF anyone wants, if not that's okay:Teri: Read a book between 202 and 301 pages (272 pgs.)
Colleen: Black text on cover
Mine: Has the name of at least 4 articles of clothing within the text
I don't know if it would help with anything if I replace someone else's or my own even. I don't know if replacing my own would help just by having the bonus done already so a "just in case" I don't get it done. lol I think I'm babbling!
