For word as genre, The Pilgrim's Progress is shelved once as pilgrim. Is that enough or does it have to be shelved more times? There are only 38 pilgrim books. I'm sure there are a lot more of colonial books.

Finished my "G" book! Starting an "I" book but it may take me a while as I am reading instead of listening.
Does anyone listen to anything in the background when they're reading (other than when doing audiobooks)? I love music but find it distracting when reading, but I have a Youtube playlist or Ambience videos I enjoy, mainly Rain and Thunderstorms. I usually put these in the background while reading and find it blends in to make a nice white noise.
Natasha wrote: "Well, there is only one page for pilgrim so that works."Natasha, are you planning on reading this book for the bonus this week? If so, I can add to spreadsheet as a plan. If not, let us know too and we can find another book. Thanks!
These I's are already proving to be a small nuisance. I have been looking through my books being read to find hidden I's -- thankfully I found one last night so will use for an I slot when completed.
Nice, Teri. I have to work tomorrow, but we MAY get a shortened day by a few hours. Then I have to do the Thanksgiving shopping; otherwise, I'm off for four days and plan to get a lot of reading in before our deadline Saturday. It's nice how everything keeps getting in the way of that though. Can't wait for the work break.
Natasha wrote: "I just finished The Pilgrim's Progress so it can be added for the word as genre bonus."I can't find Pilgrim or Colonial on the 1st page of Genre tags for that book. I will doublecheck.
Right now I put it for filling another bonus slot (Word on Cover since it has a pilgrim on cover). However, if it fits the other bonus too we can move it to that slot instead since that is more difficult to fill.
Really both bonuses are difficult to fill since not many books are really Pilgrim orientated, and if they have the name they usually don't have the tag Pilgrim (or colonial) or an actual Pilgrim on the cover :/
I may have misunderstood the rules. I thought the book had to be found on the first page of the genre's list of books, not that the genre had to be found on the first page of genres for the book.

It's easy to get some of it confused. Still, used your book to fulfill the second hardest goal for 40 points, so the book still works to help us out this week.
Well, I found that Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War and Bunker Hill: A City, a Siege, a Revolution work for colonial as genre. I'll pick those up tomorrow at the library.

I have a Pilgrim book I'm planning to read that is an easy one, but of course it doesn't have either tag.
Quick question...The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein came in at my library today for me. Is there any advantage for me to read it now or does it not matter since there are already 2 people on the BOM? Also, I added a book to the read SS. Sorry I didn't put it on the planning SS ahead of time. It covers several letters though...
Thank you, Vicki, for finishing the last I book to complete our first word! We now have one word spelled and the 15 bonus points.
Carrie wrote: "Quick question...The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein came in at my library today for me. There is not a cap on how many bonus points we can get for BOM's. If 3 people read it, each gets 20 bonus points as long as they finish the book and answer the daily questions.
Carrie wrote: "Also, I added a book to the read SS. Sorry I didn't put it on the planning SS ahead of time. It covers several letters though... "I see it in the Books Read post and will put it on spreadsheet. Thank you, that book is a big help.
I put yours in the second word's I spot, Carrie. Once we get one more I completed, we will have two words fully complete.
I finally finished my book (it was boring), but that completed another I. I'm halfway done with another I book that I should finish by tomorrow evening. Kind of juggle reading. We now have two full words complete.
Just finished a book and hope to get another one done by Saturday - looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday. I'll be in the car for a round-trip of 3 hours so should be able to get some good reading time in. We'll be meeting up with my husband's side at a restaurant buffet. Gobble Gobble!

Eggnog? LOL Oh my...here we go again! LOL Erin, I think I'm only going to be able to read book 1 and 2 of The Iron Fey series for letter I because one of my grandsons wanted to come to our place for Thanksgiving, so he is here now until tomorrow night or possibly even Saturday night. I know I won't get Empire of Storms read, so I'm going to move that the EGGNOG lol
IF I can get 3 I letters read and read all 3 books, I will. But it depends on if Vincent goes home tomorrow or Saturday.
I also have other books if there are other letters we need more. Like are we looking for a letter to complete a word?

Have fun with your grandson, this is definitely the time for family.
We just finished dinner and I'm stuffed. Think I'm going to take a nice bath and read a bit. I should have some marked complete tonight.
I went through some books tonight and found a few G's and such for next week's work.
Right now we're not looking for a specific letter, just waiting for people to finish their books and we'll move it around to see what is needed. We still have a few days to go and there's no telling what will happen between now and then.
Teri wrote: "Should i move forward with the MPG “colonial” book Bone Rattler?"I know Natasha was going to look for something from the library but not sure how that panned out. Natasha, are you going to be done with this by Saturday or do you want Teri to do it?
How about whoever finishes the bonus first, we'll use it. Both go for it. Either way both books count for regular points so it's a win either way =)

This is Week 4 of 6 - we only have two weeks left after Saturday! - Let's come in to the end strong. Right now we are #9 Overall
We now have three of four bonuses completed.
Currently we are at 0 BOM Points for the month, but I know a few are planning to read the book. We are #5 for BOM Points
We are #5 for Toughest Letters Score - these I's are helping!
We are three letters away from our fourth spelling of Pilgrim.
Next Week's Word will be Eggnog. For bonuses, we can also use the word "Drink" for MPG Genre.
I'm going to start my book tonight. I hope to spend most of the night reading so hopefully I should be able to get the book done tonight or tomorrow morning.

Which 3 letters do we need?
I finished my "I" book on the 20th but it has been crazy the last couple of days so I haven't gotten anything else done. I am hoping I will finish my other two books this weekend before the deadline!!
Vicki wrote: "Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* wrote: "Which 3 letters do we need? ."We have finished that word - go us!
We have four letters of one word to complete, and the next word has been started. Here is our progress right now - I'm hoping to finish at least two tonight to add to it. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Thank you Cecily, added it.
Oh jeez, I’m STILL waiting on my library to even get the book. There’s probably no way I can read it unless I buy it. I’ll consider it.
Carrie wrote: "I will finish The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by tomorrow morning!"How is it? I haven't actually started it yet because I've been wrapped up in a few other books first. Crossing fingers I like.
Vicki wrote: "Oh jeez, I’m STILL waiting on my library to even get the book. There’s probably no way I can read it unless I buy it. I’ll consider it."I'm not planning on any of the December BOM's personally, they're not my theme or thing, but you may like those if you enjoy Christmas stories.
I will finish throne of glass today. Sorry for not doing much this week. The holiday had me super busy this week!

I enjoyed it! I had a lot of misgivings about Elizabeth. Part of me disliked her and another part felt sorry for her. When I have conflicted feelings about a lead character and still find myself enjoying a book, I feel the author has done a great job, especially where character development is concerned!
