Cecily wrote: "Better than another word with "Y" s in it because I'm running out lol"I know, right? the Y is getting old.
Erin,
is finally at my library so I'll pick it up today or maybe tomorrow. I'll read it for next week's PILGRIM. I also moved
to next week simply because I'm reading another book that will fit the G letter and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy fits quite a few letters, so I placed it under letter R but it actually fits all these: G, L, M, P, R so I know you move books around a lot and I won't know which letter will be most needed. Or is that TMI? Lol
Sounds good Vicki, and it's not TMI since it's involving books lol - that subject never bores me.I am enjoying Crazy Rich Asians but still have forever to go. Was hoping to finish it and two more small ones by cut-off tomorrow, we shall see!
Logged a book in the books read SS. I doubt that I'll have time for another book by tomorrow but I'll start one that can be used for this week or next just to be safe.
I'll get my genre book done tonight or at the latest lunch time tomorrow. I'm going to run out of time to finish my other longer book this weekend, but at least it'll start out next week well!
I'm going to get one more in for either V or A.I finally read The Emperor's Blades which I have owned forever and never got to and I LOVED it. So I'm going to be working on the 2nd one. Love it when I find something awesome that I already owned! :P
Finished A Storm of Swords! Sorry I've been so quiet this week! It's been a busy week for me for sure.
I had a rough one, an awesome friend died and her funeral was this week. I have updated your book Jessi and will be back in a second to let everyone know where we are!
We have completed GRAVY 7 times, we only need a Y to make it 8 !!and we have completed R and A for an additional spelling!! Our points are currently at 1110!
Oh Teri I'm so sorry to hear that! I lost an awesome friend about 10 years ago. She was only 20 years old. My heart hurts for you!
Thanks, it was rough, such a wonderful teacher, I worked with her for about 2 years and she was in and out of my son's classes for the last three years so it's just really sad.

I'm so sorry, Teri. My son's kitten at his father's house was killed by his dog Thursday (well, he died from it Friday), and my aunt's dad died last night. Lots of loss this week!. I'm so sorry about your friend, I know that has to be super rough. ***hugs***
i wanted to start The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein but it is still on hold at the library :(
Teri wrote: "i wanted to start The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein but it is still on hold at the library :("Aw, sorry to hear that. Most of the BOM's seem pretty expensive to buy. I'm hoping it's good since I'm planning to read it this week but we'll see!
Jessi wrote: "I've finished another book and put it on the books read thread!"Yay!
I finished Crazy Rich Asians. If we get a G in we have another word complete.
Wow! We did really great this past week. I am ready and have begun for week 4. lol Let's GOOOOOOOOO TEAM!
Teri wrote: "i wanted to start The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein but it is still on hold at the library :("My library still doesn't even have it and, after looking it up again today, I realized that not only doesn't it have it but it never even ordered it! 4 other libraries in our system ordered it so once it arrives to those libraries, I'll have to wait for the book to be sent to my library before I can even get it. I think I'll have to buy this one in order to read it and do the questions for BOM points, or whatever.
Vicki wrote: "Wow! We did really great this past week. I am ready and have begun for week 4. lol Let's GOOOOOOOOO TEAM!"I'm totally ready for Week 4. Love how everything restarts every week. I hope to get extra reading in this week since I don't have to work as much.
Good luck, Erin!Question: I added ONE book for two different bonus tasks but not sure if that's allowed. I added it just in case someone can't find the word in text. I am definitely adding "word in title" for bonus points, so anyone can feel free to remove my book for "in text" if they want to or if it's not allowed to have one book for two, feel free to remove it or tell me too. Man, I'm too wordy! LOL
We can only use one book per bonus. For this week we can do "Pilgrim" or "Colonial" as the word in the text. Ironically Crazy Rich asians kept having that word but I think it fit better finishing it today for another Y
I suck, I finished my Y book on like Thursday and hard started a "V" book but forgot to update because I thought I had! *Facepalm* Sorry guys!
Cecily wrote: "I suck, I finished my Y book on like Thursday and hard started a "V" book but forgot to update because I thought I had! *Facepalm* Sorry guys!"LOL It seems as though you are like most of us...human! :)

Okay, I'm going to remove it from the word in text then and hopefully someone else can fill that one. :)
I ended up filling it in just because the book I was reading happened to have Pilgrim in the text. I'm like, aha!
What are everyone's plans for Thanksgiving? I'm going to cook with my mom and eat dinner at my parents house. Going to make mini banana puddings since she has the other desserts covered, and some vegetable sides. Not sure of what yet, but may be some collard greens, a mushroom dish and a broccoli dish. We always have the staples of turkey and ham, rolls, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, stuffing, sometimes she makes yams (I'm not a fan of those but others like them), and we have a little bowl of black olives and cranberries.
Wow Erin...sounds like your family has all the bases covered! We will eat at my in-laws...turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cranberries, rolls and pumpkin pie (which I will pass on because the only thing I like about pumpkin is the smell!).
Sounds great Erin! I haven’t had banana pudding in a million years. We are doing two turkey breasts, one with cajun seasoning-we’ll see how that goes! The usual green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, rolls, apple pie. We are just going to hang out with the kiddos. Couldn’t get to all the rest of the family this year. But I’ll have time to read :)
I’m conflicted this year because two of my daughters are having dinner at their places. I’ve never had to decide between two places before or end up going to two different places which I’ll end up doing. One of my grandsons is going to come spend the night. He’s 16 and lives a little over an hour away. So he’ll want to go to both places and see his cousins. I really do hate that we’re splitting up this year but it is what it is.
I won’t have to cook anything so that’s nice. The last few years we’ve had Thanksgiving at my daughter Heather’s house and I haven’t had to cook. She puts on a good spread. Lol
Life isn’t perfect so we deal with the ups and downs the best we can. I have a TON of things to be thankful for this year, and that’s what Thanksgiving is all about to me. Thinking of and sharing what you’re thankful for.
I am Canadian so Thanksgiving was a while ago!! Everyone enjoy your holiday!!! <3 <3I finished two "L" books and I have started a "G" book which I should finish today!

My mom always makes the Green Bean Casserole, which is my dad's favorite
I spent the morning on Pinterest and decided on:
Boston Market's Copycat Recipe of Creamed Spinach
Zucchini, Squash, and Corn Casserole
This Banana Pudding with some additions
Roasted Garlic Broccoli
The simple but good Marinated Cucumbers, Onions and Tomatoes
Parmesan Garlic Roasted Mushrooms
Bourbon Maple Carrots - these are very good!
Teri wrote: "Sounds great Erin! I haven’t had banana pudding in a million years. We are doing two turkey breasts, one with cajun seasoning-we’ll see how that goes! The usual green bean casserole, mashed potatoe..."Oooooh you'll have to let me know how the turkey with Cajun seasoning goes. My mom always covers the turkey and meats, so I don't get much input into them, but that sounds like something I'd want to try.
Vicki wrote: "I’m conflicted this year because two of my daughters are having dinner at their places. I'm only into Thanksgiving so much because I enjoy the bonding and cooking with my mom. I told her today that when something happens to her, I don't think I'll be in the holiday that much :/ It's always tough when people are divided into different dinners or move away. I'm glad you won't be cooking and I'm sure you and your grandson will have a great time no matter where you end up spending Thanksgiving.

Oh, that's right, my friend who is Canadian keeps reminding me of that.
And thank you for already rocking it with the books =) I love these strong starts.
Team Jack-in-the -box... sorry the moderators took away 40 points for week 3 as your book did not meet the requirement as per the rules.
