Matilda (Hyrrokin) | 6 comments I read this book in my teens (early 2000s), but I don't know if it was a new release at the time or a bit older. The book starts right off with a battle scene. Later, a silver-haired girl is "born" into the world. She has control over the elements. She grows up and is a major chess piece in the war.

As a young teen I thought the battle scenes were pretty spectacular, but I'm not sure what 10+ years or so might do to that opinion haha.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Matilda, was this book for adults or teens?
Was the setting medieval times, a mythical land, etc?

Remember any other characters/fantasy elements like dragons, witches, trolls, etc?

Anything about the cover?

Matilda (Hyrrokin) | 6 comments I feel like it was for adults, and it was a mythical land. I don't remember any other mythical beings specifically. Sorry it's so vague, I don't remember much of it.

I do remember she made a part of a mountain move to crush an enemy.

Matilda (Hyrrokin) | 6 comments Nope, that's not it. But thank you!

Mir | 805 comments Any chance it was The Last Wizard/Wizard of the Grove? The girl has magical powers and silver or white hair. She was created with the help of the tree spirits in order to have enough magical power to fight the evil wizard.

Matilda (Hyrrokin) | 6 comments I was just about to add that her origin had something to do with trees. That's it! Thank you!

(Will edit and move this to solved when I get home to my laptop.)
