It must be fate.... I have had the worst week. Son getting injured in Rugby, getting sick myself and trying to get ready for vacation next week... it made me completely forget about doing my picks. So I come here in a panic that I've missed getting someone their picks only to realize that I managed to NOT get myself signed up this month. On the bright side, no one is on the sidelines waiting for me to pick for them. On the not so bright side, this is the first time is 3 years I've missed a month. *sad face*

Thanks. He injured his knee, the doc thinks ACL, so probably surgery since he wants to keep playing. He goes for MRI on Monday to confirm it's a tear. While hubby and I are on vacation. He's just turned 18, so he's able to go by himself without a guardian, but I hate that we won't be there. Not that an MRI is risky or anything, just wish the timing had been different. We'll be back in time for his visit to the doc for the results, though.

Anyway, worried mom going on vacation... not the best way to relax!

Then there is nothing like an ex-lover who scorned you...Act Like It by Lucy Parker has actors in a pretend relationship to help improve his image.



Orange: Beach setting and hot in title should qualify - Some Like It Hot by Susan Anderson. There's a little orange on the cover, so it was the best place I could fit this. Cute chick-lit (can it be called chick-lit when a man is the MC?) story where the hero's job is reading flagged email/chat and he falls for the heroine based on that - Attachments by Rainbow Rowell.



Yellow: The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis has a teacher and I recently starting reading the author and enjoying her books. Yellow cover and creative types (video game designers) in this cute friends to lovers story - Level Up by Cathy Yardley.



Blue: I love Rebecca Zanetti, although I haven't gotten around to this series yet - Wicked Ride with a cop heroine. Lovely blue on the cover of a cozy paranormal mystery where heroine discovers she has magical powers when she enters a baking contest. The world building was pretty cool and there is a bit of forbidden romance in Seashells, Spells & Caramels by Erin Johnson.



Green: Sounds like a rural 2nd chance romance (plus lots of green grass on the cover) in Love with a Perfect Cowboy by Lori Wilde. Or check out a small/rural town settled by different types of shifters who decide to hire an outside sheriff and not share the secret which leads to some interesting situations for the widowed mother who didn't mean to start a relationship in Shifting Dreams by Elizabeth Hunter. Really enjoyed the family vibe on this one.



Purple: I enjoyed this Jana DeLeon that has purple on the cover - Lethal Bayou Beauty as the kooky characters are a blast. Or check out a widowed mother who comes from a very wealthy family of assassins and how she juggles the family business with raising her daughter and a new romance in 'Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy by Leslie Langtry.



Pink: I really enjoy the humor and huge vampire family of this series by Lynsay Sands, so go ahead and read Tall, Dark & Hungry. Or see the heroine who was left at the alter try and save her family's wedding planning business (which leads her to helping the best man whom she might have attacked in a fit of bridezilla) in Something Borrowed by Louisa George.



Magenta: I've read other series by Gena Showalter and you are pretty far along so you must like this series - The Darkest Promise. Or check out a small town waitress stuck in a rut whose world opens up (and gets a bit scary) when she discovers she has magic in A Little Night Magic by Lucy March.

It doesn't get any easier as they grow does it?! At least it won't interfere with your vacation. Just know that there isn't anything you could really do if you were home anyway. Try to relax and enjoy your vacation and I hope his recovery is simple!

Don't worry, you're not the only one. I've been doing another Ptp and the books recommended from my TBR were all books for that challenge and none of theme were called, so I couldn't read them yet. Then the one book I was going to read never came in at my library. I'm going to get one in for sure - but just barely.
