Fallen Catalyst and Fangs
Avalon quietly headed outside and to the lookout post she knew shale should be at. She had gotten pretty good st memorizing peoples schedules and locations so it didn’t take her long to reach his outpost. She headed inside and up to where he was at.
Shale heard someone coming up and turned to look, narrowing his eyes for a moment before he saw who it was. He rolled his eyes and turned back around.
"What are you doing here?" He asked annoyed.
"What are you doing here?" He asked annoyed.
“Seeing what the hell got into you that made you try and beat the shit out of someone.” Avalon answered. She came and stood near him, looking around outside.
He scoffed and shook his head.
"So what you his protector now?" He asked snidely. "That punk is going to get someone killed one day. "And it's probably going to be you."
"So what you his protector now?" He asked snidely. "That punk is going to get someone killed one day. "And it's probably going to be you."
“No. But beating the shit out of someone here is out of line. You know that..” Avalon mumbled. “I can handle myself well enough that he won’t get me killed. Or himself for that matter...”
"He's trouble." He turned to look at her. "And all it takes is one slip up. "Just one, and you end up a snack for one of those damn things. "Besides just because he's here doesn't mean he's one of us."
Avalon sighed. “One slip up will make any of us a snack.” She commented softly. “And besides, that same thing could be said about any of us. We all are here, which means that we’re all one of our group.” She told him.
"Whatever." He rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he looked over the area. "Just keep him away from me, and he wont have anymore trouble. "I don't care if he's Olivia's brother or not, next time I wont hold back."
“There’s no reason for this bullshit. What’d he do to you to cause this Shale?” Avalon questioned. She kept watching outside, sighing faintly in frustration.
"Little jerk thinks he's tough." He said after a moment. "And he can't take a joke, I tried to talk to him when I saw him walking around earlier. "But then he just ignored me, all I did was grab his arm and he pushed me."
“Like you’re any different. You act just as tough as anyone else does.” Avalon muttered softly. “As for the jokes, it’s probably cause you’re not funny, you’re mean.” She commented faintly.
"Avalon, if you are just going to stand there and lecture me about what I did wrong." He said getting a bit angry. "Then you might as well just go, because I'm done talking to you. "I have work to do anyway."
“No. I’m trying to figure out how we’re gonna resolve this before one of you tried to kill the other...” Avalon answered, shrugging at him. “Besides, I’m not impeding your work.”
"I wasn't trying to kill him." He said with a sigh. "Fine, if he's going to be here, if it'll make you feel better I'll....try and make nice. "But don't expect me to like it. "Will that make you feel better?"
“I’m not here to make myself feel better Shale.” Avalon replied lowly. “I’m here to get this settled and make it so here is a safe place for all of us without conflict between us. We’ve got enough enemies out there as it is..”
"Like I said, I'll make nice." He said shaking his head, then sighed. "I will say one thing, you are right. "We don't need to make enemies of each other, I'll...do what I have to, to keep things...civil..."
Avalon nodded. “I’ll tell him to do the same.” She Agreed. She wasn’t sure if she fully believed or trusted that shale would keep his word but she hoped so.
"Good then." He said still not looking at her as he kept his eyes on the area. "Maybe I'll take more jobs. "Less likely to run into each other."
“There’s no real need for that shale. Just be civil. Hell do the same..” Avalon assured quietly as she kept watching the area.
"I'll do what I can I guess." He told her, crossing his arms. "But I'll still try and avoid him if I can, just to make sure." He shrugged slightly.
Shale was about to say something else when he saw some movement closer to the police station. He reached down and grabbed his binoculars to get a better look.
Shale looked over to the area, for a moment only seeing the one Zombie lingering near the station. After another second, he saw them a swarm of them suddenly trying to surround it.
"You better get back there fast." He told her, looking over to her. "We'll do what we can out here."
"You better get back there fast." He told her, looking over to her. "We'll do what we can out here."
Avalon watched, biting her lip. “I’m armed. I might as well help..” she said softly. “Besides, the chances of me getting back unnoticed isn’t that great.”
"Fine." He picked up his bat, and put his over his shoulder. "Stay here and pick off as many as you can. "I'll go down and see if I can't thin the heard." He looked at her for a moment, before quickly heading down.
Avalon looked back at him. “Stay safe. I’ve got your back.” She promised faintly. She shifted and stayed by the window, watching the swarm. She knew she didn’t have enough arrows to take them all out so instead, she’d take out the more dangerous ones and watch shales back.
Shale approached the seemingly growing heard, not really paying it much mind as he swung at the nearest ones head. It quickly fell over and he went for more, swinging at everyone he could. The only thing on his mind was trying to keep his home safe.
Avalon began taking shots, watching shales back and taking out the ones she could. She knew that at least one of the other lookouts would see the swarm and should be on their way to help and she hoped that would be enough. They couldn’t risk opening up the station and letting them inside.
Shale managed to get quite a few of them, swinging away and making sure they were down. Though he couldn't see every angle around him, he suddenly felt his arm get grabbed. And while he was focused on that sudden feeling. His leg was suddenly grabbed. He sucked in a breath as he tried to free himself, feeling a sudden panic rising in him. But it was suddenly cut short as he heard a slicing noise, both of the ones that had grabbed him suddenly letting go. He looked over, expecting to see one of the other guards, but surprised to see London there now back to back with him. He shook of his shock and quickly went back to his job. A minute later some of the others came to help.
Avalon watched from above. She kept shooting any time she had a clear shot, doing her best to keep any from sneaking up on shale. But she couldn’t get every one of them. Shale moved too quickly and she didn’t want to risk shooting him too. She raised an eyebrow at London’s appearance but focused on the task at hand, they needed to get the swarm taken down so they’d be safe again.
It seemed like forever before London started to notice that they had been doing something. Thinning them down little by little, Shale whacking away definitely surprised that he had saved him. Even though he wasn't his favorite person in the world right now, London didn't want anyone to go out like that. It finally ended as they took down the last of them, slicing the last one in front of him he let out a hard breath and bent over a bit to catch his breath.
Avalon swore as she ran low on arrows. She didn’t stop though until she’d seen London and Shale take down the last of the zombies. She stayed perched on the edge of the window, watching out for them from above. She didn’t see any other zombies coming but she’d stay up there until she was sure and that the two of them had both caught their breath.
London stood up straight as he saw a hand suddenly near him, looking over as he saw Shale standing there. He read his face, noticing a hint of something, he could tell he was trying to make amends. London half smiled a bit, reaching out and taking his hand.
"Thanks." Shale said after a moment, though London could tell he was still having a hard time with it. Shale let go and nodded before turning and going to check on the others.

Avalon kept watch up above. She smiled faintly and relaxed a bit at the apparent truce between Shale and London. She looked around again, wanting to go down and check on the others but didn’t want to leave them without a lookout.
Shale finished up making sure the others that had come to help were okay. Coming back up to his post, and crossing his arms as he looked over.
"I got it from here." He told her quietly, setting his bat down.
"I got it from here." He told her quietly, setting his bat down.
Avalon nodded slightly. “Alright. Nice job down there..” she mumbled tiredly, finally lowering her crossbow and moving back a bit from the ledge.
"Thanks." He managed a small smile, nodding his head. "I guess he's okay." He said, shrugging slightly. "You should go and get some rest, I'll see you later."
Avalon shrugged slightly. “Alright. I’ll see you in the morning...” she said softly. She moved to head back downstairs so she could go back to her room.
London sat down on the front steps, just relaxing slightly. He looked over as he saw her coming up.
"Hey." He said, giving her a small smile. "Are you alright?"
"Hey." He said, giving her a small smile. "Are you alright?"
Avalon glanced at him. “Fine..” she answered softly, glancing st the bodies now laying in the street. She bit her lip lightly and came up the steps silently.
London glanced around at the dead around them, shaking his head. Of course they would have to get this cleaned up, from the look of it though. There was already people doing that. He took in a breath and pushed himself up from the stairs heading inside.
Avalon followed him inside. She would’ve stayed and helped move the bodies but right now she was tense and just exhausted so she didn’t want to. She went upstairs to their room.
London was pretty exhausted himself, once he got into the room he lay down on the bed. Letting his weapon fall to the side of his bed. He figured they could talk more in the morning, and right now all he wanted was to sleep.
Avalon set her crossbow and nearly empty quiver down on the table. She slipped off her shoes and laid down in her own bed, closing her eyes. She wanted to talk to London but he seemed pretty exhausted.
It didn't take long before he quickly fell asleep. He hoped tomorrow wouldn't be as tiring as today. Having to talk down a bunch of them in one day was a lot to have to handle. But he didn't really think about any of that as he dozed off.
Avalon stayed awake for a little while longer before exhaustion took over. She curled up in her bed and went to sleep, not waking up until late the next morning.
London woke up the next morning, though his night had been anything but restful. He didn't remember his dream, but he knew it wasn't anything good. He blinked open his eyes seeing a bit of sun peaking in through the window.

Shale stood in one of the lookout's, his arms crossed over his chest as he kept his eyes pealed. His cheek was bruised, and cut a bit, still pretty steamed about that London guy.
