“They are. They disagree a lot though. But most big things are community decisions..” Avalon explained softly. She shrugged slightly st him.
"That makes sense." He nodded. Leaders having disagreements with there people was common. He glanced around at where they were, run down building probably death traps as well.
Avalon nodded slightly. “Don’t go into buildings with the red spray paint doorways. We’ve set some traps in there..” she cautions, pointing one out.
So he was partially right, filled with monsters and actual death traps.
"Got it." He said seeing the spray paint on the doors. "You guys have thought of everything."
"Got it." He said seeing the spray paint on the doors. "You guys have thought of everything."
Avalon shrugged. “We’ve been here for quite a while.. lots of time to get everything set up..” she answered softly as they kept walking together.
He nodded as he followed along side her, keeping his eyes and ears open still. It was still quiet, and even though he knew it still made him a bit uneasy.
Avalon glanced at him. “Any other questions for me?” She asked, trying to think of more things to ask him.
"Not at the moment." He shook his head. "But I might think of something later." He knew he had other things to ask, but right now he couldn't think of anything.
Avalon nodded. “Alright.” She said softly. She was quiet for a moment, just walking with him. “Whats one thing that you miss?”
He had to think about that for a moment, before he spoke again.
"There's a lot I miss." He said honestly. "But if I had to pick, I guess the biggest thing I miss is not having to worry if I'll even have a place to sleep. "I guess I have don't have to worry any more, but it's still a fear."

Avalon was patient, not expecting an immediate answer to such a tough question. She nodded slightly. “That makes sense..” she agreed quietly, glancing over at him.
"I guess really, I just am tired of being scared all the time." He finally admitted. "I'm okay at hiding it, but everything is just so uncertain."
Avalon nodded. “That makes sense. And I think most all of us fear that lately.. we have no way of knowing what’s to come..” she agreed softly, looking at him.
"Yeah." He took in a deep breath. There had been a few times he had wished he could go back to the easy life he had. But that had been in the beginning, he had stopped hoping that a long time ago.
Avalon nodded. “At least you’re in a good spot now. And you’ve made it this far.” She said softly. She always tried to be at least somewhat optimistic, not wanting people to just lay down and give up. No, life wasn’t great now. But it was still a life.
There had been a few times when he thought about just stopping and letting whatever happened, happen. But he had always pushed himself to go, he never really gave up. He grabbed his water bottle from his bag and took a drink, before he stopped looking around as he heard something not to far off. He quickly put his bottle back and pulled out his machete.
Avalon stayed quiet. She paused slightly at the sound, checking her crossbow to make sure it was good to fire before looking in the direction of the source. She quietly started towards it, trusting London to have her back in case something attacked them.
He followed at a small distance, but still close enough. Looking everywhere there could be something, looking behind them every so often to make sure nothing would sneak up on them. He glanced ahead of them, stopping as he saw a zombie munching away on some poor animal.
Avalon sighed faintly and bit her lip. There was nothing they could do for the animal, it was dead already. She debated shooting the zombie but that seemed to have more of a chance of attracting others than actually benefiting them st all. She glanced at London before nodding back behind them as a way to suggest they leave.
London looked at the scene for a moment, before he had to look away. It made him sick to his stomach. He nodded as she suggested they turn around, he turned around to head back on to there route. He took a few steps forward when he suddenly felt something grab his ankle. He looked down, and didn't even think twice as he swung his machete and sliced the Zombies head off.
Avalon kept her crossbow drawn and ready, watching the zombie a moment longer before turning around to follow, seeing him slice the head off of the zombie. She quickly looked around for more, not wanting a full on swarm on their hands.
He kicked the body away, quickly looking up hoping the sound it made hadn't attracted any more. He gritted his teeth as he looked around, willing more to stay away. But he knew it was to much to hope for as that familiar sound rang out loudly around them. He cursed under his breath as he saw them start to slowly emerge.
Avalon swore under her breath at the noise, Listening as more zombies began to come out. There was no good way to get out of their current location alone, they were practically surrounded. She glanced to London before whistling sharply, knowing that someone would hear and get them some backup so they could fight their way out.
London looked over to her as he heard her whistle, quickly getting what she was doing. In the mean time he did his best to stave off the ones closest to them. Whacking a few with his blade, keeping as close as he could to Avalon. For a moment he thought no one had heard her, but his fears were dashed as he suddenly saw someone from behind the swarm, taking them quickly out.
Avalon shot her crossbow at some the stronger looking zombies as they tried to get close. She stayed near London, determined to protect him as well. She was grateful for the third person though, them immediately jumping in to take out some of the zombies.
London shifted his attention from the new person to the rest of the Zombies, hoping to help thin the swarm. A few seconds later the mystery person was suddenly visible.
"Need some help?" Shale smirked as he came through to them, continuing to whack Zombies with his bat.
"Need some help?" Shale smirked as he came through to them, continuing to whack Zombies with his bat.
Avalon kept shooting, easily hitting and killing the quicker or stronger looking zombies while the other two slashed and bashed through the other ones. She glanced at shale. “Shut up and bash heads. We can talk later.” She muttered impatiently.
"Yes ma'am." Shale laughed as he continued to do just that. London resisted sighing as he slashed through them. She had been right he did have there backs, but he wondered if he ever stopped joking. Even in a situation like this. But that was for later, right now he needed to focus.
Avalon kept shooting, swearing faintly as she started to run low on arrows. Thankfully, they’d taken out almost all of the zombies by then. She shot one of the last of the zombies, biting her lip. She looked to London and then shale, checking on both of them.
Shale batted the last one, making sure it was completely dead before turning to them and flipping his bat around in his hand and putting it back in the bag on his back. London blew out a breath as it seemed they pretty much got them, but he shook his head.
"We need to get moving." He said out of breath, slipping his blade in his bag.

Avalon nodded. She went through the piles bodies, yanking out her Arrows. She knew they’d need to be cleaned but they were usable. She didn’t want to ever run out of them, that being her weapon of choice.
"Do you just bring danger with you?" Shale laughed quietly as he looked over to London.
"Lets just go." London ignored him the best he could as he went back to where they had been before they were attacked.

Avalon shot a slight glare at shale. “Thanks for your help. You can go back to your post now.” She said quietly, tucking her arrows back into her quiver as she walked by London, still keeping watch.
"Fine, off I go." Shale sort of bowed, then chuckled before running back toward his own post. London glanced back as he ran off, before turning his attention back forward.
"I should have seen it." London said after a moment. "I'm sorry about that."
"I should have seen it." London said after a moment. "I'm sorry about that."
Avalon stayed silent as shale finally left, listening to make sure he didn’t get attacked on his way back or anything. After a moment, she relaxed and kept walking. She glanced at London. “Don’t be sorry. Sometimes they’ll catch us off guard. We killed them and made it out intact. It’s okay..”
"I still need to remember to watch the ground too." He said nodding. It was something that had tripped him up in the passed to. He needed to remember it better, especially if he was going to continue to do this job.
“You’ll get better about it..” Avalon assured faintly. She knew she made mistakes too, letting her mind wander on her patrols was a big one. She didn’t mean to. She just couldn’t always focus on reality.
"So I take it Shale's route is close to here?" He asked trying to find some way to change the subject. Though he still wasn't sure he really liked it all that much, even though he did just help them out a lot. He was pretty annoying, at least to him.
“Sorta. He’s got more of a stationary post. Like the guy who followed us yesterday. They typically have like one sorta secure building and they camp out up high. They’re there for our patrols to assist and also just to watch what comes in and out of the area.” Avalon explained softly. She shrugged at him.
He nodded understandingly.
"Right so, he's more of a guard then." He said thoughtfully. "Does he mess around with you like that, or is it just new people?" He wondered, maybe it was just a get the newbie type thing.

Avalon nodded. She glanced around before back at him. “He screws with most everyone. I’ve just scared him enough that he knows better. Basically, if you mess with him back enough, he backs down. At least that I’ve seen.” She explained quietly.
"I see." He nodded thoughtfully, maybe he would have to do that next next time. Though he wasn't the type of person who usually messed with others, if it stopped Shale he would do it.
“I’ll help if needed.” Avalon assured softly, glancing st him. “Or I can just tell him to knock it off. Either works.” She offered. She looked around then quietly.
"It's alright." He shook his head. "I can handle it." He didn't want her to have to deal with his problems, he would figure something out. And if not he would just have to get to the point where he could ignore him.
Avalon nodded slightly. “Alright..@ She Agreed softly, not going to intervene if he didn’t want her to. She’d let him handle it. She kept walking with him quietly.
He followed her along, keeping a much more careful eye out this time. They couldn't afford to have another incident, and he didn't want to be the cause of another one.
Avalon glanced at him occasionally, trying to keep her mind from wandering. “Anything you wanna talk about?” She asked softly.
He thought about that for a moment, before he thought of something.
"You never told me what you miss most." He said looking over to her for for a moment. "Anything in particular?"

"Well they both seem to be pretty good at there jobs." He said thoughtfully.
