Fallen Catalyst and Fangs
“Alright.” Avalon nodded slightly. She stood and gathered her stuff. “I should be back about an hour or two..” she promised, biting her lip. She checked to make sure she had everything she needed before heading to the door.
He watched her for a moment, before turning his attention to his new bed. He hadn't slept on something soft in a long time, he moved and swung his legs on top slowly laying his head down. He still wasn't sure he would get much if any sleep but he was going to try.
Avalon shut the door behind her and left the building. She went back to the station and let someone else know who the new guy was and where he was at, just in case something happened and she didn’t come back or whatever. She then left to continue on her patrol through a different area.
London lay on the bed, just staring up at the ceiling. After a moment he tried to change his approach and closed his eyes turning over on his side. But it was just all to new still, he decided to get up and explore around a bit. He pushed himself up from the bed, tucking his bag underneath before he slowly opened the door and peaked out. He took in a breath and walked out hands in his pockets.
Avalon continued with her patrols, Not finding much of anything noteworthy. As it got later in the day, a few others returned, gathering in the police station. What had once been their lounge had been set up as a kitchen and so someone always cooked dinner st least so they’d all have a chance to just sit and eat and be normal for an hour or two before having to return to reality.
He got a few looks, but thankfully no one said anything to him. He managed to explore a bit of the place before he started to smell the food, and his stomach started to growl. He stood back from everyone else as he found his way there.
Once the food was ready, people just got in line and helped themselves, each taking a bit but not too much so there would be enough for everyone. They easily let london join them, treating him just like anyone else. Avalon returned a bit later, after everyone had gotten their food and had sat at the tables to eat.
London stood in the line, he hadn't expected they would kick him out or anything but they still hadn't said much. He took small bit of food and found a spot a bit away.
"Mind if I sit here?" He looked up as he heard a voice. A guy smiling broadly at him.
"Uh...sure." London nodded slowly, making room for him as he sat beside him, not knowing why this guy was suddenly wanting to sit with him.
"You're the new guy right, the one Avalon brought back?" He put hand out to him. "I'm Shale."
"London..." He shook his hand, before quickly taking a bite of his food.

Avalon walked in quietly. She greeted a few people before heading and getting herself some food. She glanced around before heading to sit with shale and London, figuring London would want her around since she was more familiar and she was friends with shale so why not. She set her crossbow down by the table before taking a seat, offering a small wave to them both.
London was a bit relieved when she sat down, glad she was there to break a bit of the tension. He gave a wave back, smiling slightly.
"Hey." He said after swallowing some food.
"Well welcome back." Shale smiled at her. "Been trying to get acquainted with out newest recruit. "I hear you saved his life."

Avalon smiled faintly. She grabbed her water bottle from her bag and drank some. “Thanks. And yeah. I kinda did. He got himself trapped up in the corner store on the outskirts of town.” She explained to shale. She ate a few bites of her food.
"Ah, that place is a death trap." He turned to look at London now. "Lots of biters, just waiting to pounce!" He said a bit animatedly. Making London blink a bit in surprise, feeling a bit embarrassed that he flinched slightly.
"Just wanted to find some food." He explained quietly, taking a small bite and chewing slowly.

Avalon rolled her eyes. “Shale. Ease up.” She told him simply. She knew how most of them acted and could usually read people decently well enough to tell when someone was doing something out of line to someone else and she’d always call them out on it. Avalon didn’t want london feeling guilty or uncomfortable, He was just trying to survive like they all were.
"Oh I'm just teasing him." He sort of chuckled. "He made it this far after all, he must be pretty tough."
"It's alright." He told Avalon quietly, giving a small smile. He didn't want to seem like he couldn't handle himself again. Even though Shale was make him a bit uncomfortable. "I just have to get use to being around people again." He finally admitted.

“No shit Sherlock.” Avalon rolled her eyes at him. She shifted and slumped in her chair tiredly, listening to the two of them. “You’ll get used to it. And people will get used to you too.” She assured. “It takes everyone a bit of time at first... don’t stress too much about it.”
"Eh, you'll be okay." Shale said taking the last bite of his food and standing up. "Gotta get back out there, see you around London." He sort of winked, pointing at him before slinking away.
"Is he...always....like that?" London asked her, wondering if he just liked messing with people in general.

Avalon kept an eye on shale, watching him leave. She looked back to London. “What, weird like that? Yes. He is. He’s a little off in the head honestly but he’s a good person who will have your back.”
He didn't think he seemed like a bad person, he just wondered if he was like that with everyone. And from what she said he was.
"He's the only one that's really talked to me beside you." He chewed the last bit of his food thoughtfully.
"He's the only one that's really talked to me beside you." He chewed the last bit of his food thoughtfully.
“Everyone’s a little on edge right now. Half of us are gone and sometimes, not everyone makes it back.. it’s taken some time but we’re all sorts like a family. You’re just not a part of it yet. People will talk more to you eventually. In the future, you can just go sit with them and talk with them about whatever.”
"You've been here a long time." He looked up at her. "And you know all these people, probably pretty well. "And yeah I'm here now, and I'm going to try and get use to it. "But the last group I was with did try and kill me." He sighed shaking his head realizing he was going on a tangent. "I'm sorry, I know it's different here, a lot different."
Avalon stayed quiet and listened to him as he rambled a bit, not minding. “I can promise you it’s different..” she assured. “But if you’d be willing to talk, I’d like to hear more about the other group you’d been with before.” She commented. She was curious since she’d only been with these people since this all began and it also would be good intel to have if there was a band of murderers running about anywhere near them.
He calmed himself before he nodded his head, pushing his plate a bit to the side.
"Alright, what do you want to know?" It was only fair after all, if they did end up coming to look for him, they would need to know all they could.
"Alright, what do you want to know?" It was only fair after all, if they did end up coming to look for him, they would need to know all they could.
“Whatever you want to tell. And you don’t have to say anything you don’t want to.” Avalon assured. She didn’t want to make him uncomfortable or pry too much too quickly. She’d also be willing to tell more about herself in return to him telling her stuff.
"Well like I said it was a little after everything happened." He crossed his arms on the table. "I was just trying to find some place, and they took me in. "All I had to do was help with whatever they needed me to." He pressed his lip together, absently fiddling with his empty plate. "At first I thought they were just strict, just trying to keep everyone safe. "Break the rules and you got punished, another shift of a patrol or working in the garden. "But after awhile I started to realize that people were starting to go missing, people that had broken there rules."
Avalon sat quietly and listened to him. “If you broke too many rules, they got rid of you?” She guessed quietly, looking st him. She couldn’t believe that people would do that. It didn’t make sense. But then again, people did crazy things, especially now.
"Yeah." He nodded his head solemnly. "I only found out...because a close friend of mine just suddenly disappeared." He took in a deep breath before he continued. "So I tried to leave, snuck out during the night, but they caught me and tried to take me back to the leader. "But I managed to somehow slip from there grasp, ran away as far as I could. "They caught up a few times, but I haven't seen them in a long time."
Avalon nodded slightly. “I’m sorry you went through that. It sounds terrifying.” She said softly. “At some point later, could we have you write down some descriptions of them and stuff, just so we know to keep an eye out for them?” She asked, wanting to keep everyone safe.
"Of course." He nodded still a bit caught up in the memories for a moment, before he shook himself. "Just let me know." He didn't know if they had given up or not, but if there was a chance they were still looking for him he didn't want everyone else to be put in danger because of him.
“Well do it later. I think you’ve dealt with enough today.” Avalon decided softly. She continued to eat the rest of her food, yawning softly. She looked around them before back over to London. “Any questions for me?”
He was thankful for that, having to think about it at all was enough. But if it would help, at least he would be okay with that.
"Well..." He thought for a moment. "You said you've been here for awhile. "Are you actually from around here? "Or did you just end up here too?"
"Well..." He thought for a moment. "You said you've been here for awhile. "Are you actually from around here? "Or did you just end up here too?"
“Ended up here. Was at another region prior to this. Decided to come when a group was gonna come out this way.” Avalon answered with a slight shrug. She finished her food and set her fork down.
"I see." He slowly twirled his finger around his plate. He wanted to ask where she was when everything started happening, but that wasn't a question for now. And it was probably to personal. "So what made you decide to join?"
“I wasn’t alone.. it was my older brother and I. We found some others and they took us in. Got us better weapons. Taught us how to fight and everything. They turned out to be that areas group at first when this all was starting. They thought we’d be useful so they kept us around. We’ve sorta bounced around since then..” she explained softly, not minding the question. It wasn’t too personal or anything.
"Oh so your brother is here too?" He wondered. "I have a younger sister....or I don't know..." He could only hope after being separated from her, that she was out there somewhere, surviving too. He had searched for awhile, but there was only so many places left to search.
“He’s off with the others right now but yeah. He’s usually here.” Avalon Agreed. She listened and nodded. “She’s probably still out there then. Maybe you’ll find her eventually.” She commented, being a bit optimistic about it.
"I hope so." He gave a bit of a smile, that was all he could do now. Running into her again was something he had been hoping would happen, but he didn't want to get his hopes up to high. That was a bad thing to do now.
“Who knows. Maybe she’s with us in some other region or something.” Avalon commented a bit optimistically. Even if Hope was dangerous for them, she didn’t care. It was better to have it than to not. She watchef him for a moment.
"Knowing her she probably is." He smiled at that, knowing how his sister usually was. "By now she's probably some important person." He chuckled softly thinking about that, he wouldn't doubt it. Maybe just keeping that thought in his head would help.
Avalon smiled faintly and nodded. “Maybe So.” She Agreed. She pulled the hair tie out of her hair for a moment, running her hands through her hair and sweeping it up a bit more neatly into a bun. She tied it back up. (Do you want that to be the case? His sister is either important somewhere else or is maybe the leader there or something?
((If you want to. That would be fine, she could be the leader there.))
He thought for a moment, before something came to him.
"So, do you guys ever think about the people in the compound?" He said quietly, knowing it would be a big feat if they ever decided to try and over take it. "Like trying to free them?"

(Okay. I think it’d be an interesting thing to add that could add problems later on))Avalon tilted her head slightly as she listened to London. She shook her head when he finished speaking. “We thought about it. But it’s not feasible. Anyone in the compound is under their leaders rule. The leader there doesn’t want us alive. Freeing them would just be a death trap for us.” She explained to him.
((Yeah, sounds good to me.))
"Right." He said with a sigh. It would be a death trap for anyone that tried to infiltrate there, just setting foot near the place would have zombies down on you in seconds. "Keeping people here safe is more important." He understood that at least.

(Okay. The next day maybe London comes back to the station in the morning when avalon wasn’t in their room, finds her sitting with her brother and his sister?)Avalon nodded slightly. “Exactly. There’s a lot of us out here still. We can survive without the compound.” She agreed softly, shrugging st him. “You wanna stay here for a while longer or no?”
((Alrighty.))
"Actually, I'm getting kind of tied." He said pushing himself to his feet. "I should try and get some rest if I'm going to help out tomorrow." He smiled slightly taking in a breath. Whatever it was he would be doing tomorrow.

Avalon nodded slightly. “Agreed. I’m exhausted..” she said softly. She stood up and grabbed both of their plates. She took them back to the kitchen before coming back to the table to get her stuff. She said goodnight to some of the others, heading to the door.
London followed a bit behind her as he headed toward his new room. His new actual bed, it was nice to think about. Maybe now that he was actually tired he could get a bit of sleep, at least a little would be nice. He knew thought, that he would end up waking himself up early.
Avalon walked across the street quietly. She went upstairs and to her room, holding the door open for London. She set her stuff on one of the chairs and set her weapons down by her bed out of habit. She slipped off her shoes and laid down on her bed. “Goodnight London..”
"Yeah, goodnight." He walked over to the bed and sat down on the side before fully laying down. He lay there for a moment, looking up at the ceiling and thinking about the days events before he closed his eyes. It didn't take long before he finally drifted to sleep.

"Yeah, we have to stick together." He agreed. More people meant the more likely they would survive. "Well, I wont keep you if you have to get back. "Maybe I'll try and rest a bit."
