I am not interested in being captain.

I would rather not be captain

There is just something about this book that draws you in. I literally read the book in one sitting and didn't want to stop until I was finished. I loved the new characters brought into the series. I look forward to reading further in the series. I definitely want to learn the secrets of the books & the wedding dress.

Review: Really enjoyed this book. Hadn't heard much going into it, but it was such a fun read. I loved the cast of characters (with the exception of one) and the friendships formed were great. My favourite bond was between Tilla and Jax, and how they had that sibling teasing but you could tell they would do anything for each other. Already looking forward to the second book. Review:
I didn't enjoy this instalment as much as previous ones. I have always found the series a little too similar to the author's other series but still quite liked them. This one however, I mostly found irritating and frustrating. Jack was way too over protective and chauvinistic and Ivy, though she spent a good portion of the book angry at him still seemed to let him and their bickering n the book became irritating as opposed opposed to the cute i think it was supposed to be. The mystery seemed to be all but forgotten in some bits while the focus was on Ivy and jack but for most of it I couldn't seem to bring myself to care and at that point I told myself I probably wouldn't move any further in the series. The final 25% picked up though and I found myself reconsidering my decision to not move any further with the series. I may yet read book 7.

You guys are getting a last minute addition to your team. Sophie will be joining you. :)
I've let her know that if she feels she can't make the deadline for the first roll since she's joining in a day late, she'll just let you know and start playing from Sunday on.

Sophie | 105 comments Hi everyone, just stopping by to check in and say hi. I actually do have a book that is number 6 in a series ready to read and no big plans for the weekend so I can have it done by Sunday! I'm only on my tablet/phone at weekends at the moment though as my daughter has accidentally smashed my laptop screen but I can work around it and shouldn't be a problem for me to update my posts.

Book: A Steep Price
Qualification: #6 in the Tracy Crosswhite series
Pages: 377
Finished: 16/9
Rating: 4*
Review: Tracy Crosswhite is a homicide detective for Seattle PD who investigates the sudden disappearance of a young Indian woman. I liked this book more than some of the others in the series because it was interesting to read about the cultural pressures the young woman was under i.e. to give up her dream of being a doctor to instead enter into an arranged marriage and have babies. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was more focus on Tracy's colleagues, particularly Vic Fazzio.

Review:
It was a pleasant reading, well written but didn't excite me like the other two books in the series I read. Maybe because I did not really love the main character Francesca, at times she seemed to be demanding too much without giving anything back. Instead I loved the protagonist Michael, a loyal, honest man, ready to renounce everything for love and honor.

Review:
It has been a while since I read a book by this author but I remember why I liked her writing so much. I was almost instantly pulled into this dystopian world. It is so well written that you are right there with the characters when they are excited or disgusted. I loved that Liana cared so much for her friends that she refused to leave without them. I couldn't imagine living in a society where thinking for yourself can get you killed. Although, I think I would prefer death over being drugged to the point that I don't know who I am. Now I can't wait until we land on a spot with a 2 in the number because I want to read the 2nd one.....

Review: Thought I was gonna love this book. Mysteries set in Victorian times with a duo who don't exactly see eye to eye solving it, and a hint of slow-burn romance, are kind of my thing. This book, however, was not.

The plot was long-winded, a lot of the decisions the characters made made no sense, and the 'resolution' was unsatisfying. Doubt I will be reading further in this series!

Review: I thought I would love this book. A story about witches and magic dying out in the world is my kind of read but I struggled to get through this unfortunately. It just did not pique my interest and I couldn’t get into it. I won’t be rushing to read the rest of the series

Review:
I have had this series on my TBR radar for a while now so took the opportunity to start it this week with this book. My first thoughts are that I totally hated the main character but was totally hooked on the storyline. Not that the story line was any great masterpiece but essentially this book is mean girls meets pretty little liars meets gossip girl meet any other school with a boarding school for rich girls /scholarship girl trope. And yet I couldn't look away. I found the main character Reed shallow and weak and could not fathom how on earth she could trust the billings girls or Thomas and she constantly made extremely poor decisions as the story went on. That being said. As soon as I was done with this book, I went straight away and picked up book 2 and have since borrowed the rest of the series from the library. I think i might be addicted.
