As much as I enjoyed reading "The Alchemist", "An Enemy of the People" has to be my favorite summer reading book of this year--which is saying a lot because that book was FRUSTRATING. It was honestly painful to read how simple greed and selfishness, not to mention ignorance allowed for Peter to basically turn the entire town against his brother Dr. Stockman, and his family. But the reason that this book was my favorite was because of the moral to be learned was the most practical. "Beware the struggle of need vs. greed. As no matter which side is the most righteous or well-funded as chances are: majority rules". At least, that's what I got from the book.
