This is a boarding high school and middle school academy. It is only for the best of the best with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, expansive grounds, large stables, and a dorm room with roommates optional. You get to choose your interest when you join the Academy out of these:

3) Botany (A special class and a focus in Science)
4) Medicine (A special class a focus in Science and Math)

7) History (A focus on History and English to become a historian)
8) Sports (Required grades in certain classes and a requirement to be in two sports)
9) Advanced Writing (A special class with a focus in English)
10) Chemistry (A special class with a focus in science)

15) Agriculture (A special class with a focus in Science)
16) Oceanography (A special class with a focus in Science)

Or another role, just run it by me before making your character.

Dear students,

Congratulations on getting into BLA. It is not an easy feat since we look only for the best of the best. You will be challenged mentally, emotionally, and physically, but I am confident you will succeed.

If you are struggling, however, tutoring is offered year-round. Talk to the Head Tutor for more information. If you have a B+ grade average or higher you may sign up to tutor.

We offer many extra-curricular activities you can sign up for. Some interests require you to be signed up for a certain number or certain type of extra-curricular. Team captains are sign-up and show-up and schedule practices themselves. They should be sure to book the room they wish to use and to get the word out.

The uniform is required to wear to class, but outside of class certain guidelines apply. Tank tops must be two finger-widths wide at the shoulder. Shorts and skirts must reach mid-way down the thigh or be at least six inches long from waist to bottom. High heels may not be more than 2 1/2 inches high.

You are expected to show up to class, and unless you have a note from me or the Infirmary you will be marked a 0 in the gradebook if you are absent.

You are allowed to decorate your rooms, but guidelines apply. No adhesives that are not easily removable (Allowed: Glue dots, masking tape, scotch tape). No staples, nails, or other holes in the walls. Some allowed decoration is any bedding, posters, and display items on flat surfaces (such as flowers.) Inquire at the office on whether a certain item is allowed.

Pets other than small fish, service animals, or horses kept in the stables are strictly forbidden. If you live at home, do not bring your pet to school.

Boys and girls are not allowed in each other's dormitories. You can knock on the door to pick someone up and go somewhere else, but do not enter.

Interests at the academy aren't necessarily what you will go on to do in life or study in college. At BLA we like to give the chance to explore what you want to do, in different categories. You may change your interest annually, but not in the middle of the year. Interest classes continue during the summer, but attending and homework are both optional. In addition, during the summer, students are welcome to interest hop, i.e. attend different interest classes. Please let the teacher of the class know 24 hours in advance if you will be attending their class so that they may ensure they have all of the materials they will need.

Enjoy your stay and learn well,
Principal Canessa
