Murakami - new book plus old favorites

There is new English Murakami book released in US next month, Killing Commendatore; the advance press describes as an "epic" and homage to The Great Gatsby.

I also found this 2014 favorites list from Murakami biographer. 4 of the 10 are from the "Rat" series, which I've never read; namely, (1) Hear the Wind Sing; (2) Pinball, 1973; (3) A Wild Sheep Chase; and (4) Dance Dance Dance

For me, my favorites are The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle; Norwegian Wood; and the lesser known South of the Border, West of the Sun.

Oh, this is exciting news. The Wind-up Bird chronicle is still high up on my to-read list, but looks like this new Murakami book will precede it

Just catching up with this thread, good news! I finished 1Q84 parts 1&2 earlier this year and really enjoyed Kafka on the Shore. Always keen to read more Murakami!
