Here is the nominations thread for November's Book of the Month and Group Buddy!

If you're looking for any ideas...
-You can nominate any CF book you've had your heart set on that follows the guidelines.
-You can nominate a book by the Author of the Month for November, Jocelyn Green, except for Mark of the King, which we read in 2017.
-You can nominate one that will work for the monthly challenge for November, which is "Things you are thankful for" (find the full description of monthly challenges here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...).

PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books....
-Remember that a book must be out for 3 months or more to be eligible for nominations and voting
-Try not to nominate an author that we've read that year already
-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.
-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decision. Thank you for your understanding! :)

Nominations will be open until September 15.

Nominations as of Sept. 15:
1. An Amish Love by Beth Wiseman
2. The Heart Between Us: Two Sisters, One Heart Transplant, and a Bucket List by Lindsay Harrel
3. A Refuge Assured by Jocelyn Green
4. Yankee in Atlanta by Jocelyn Green
5. The Carpenter's Daughter by Jennifer Rodewald
6. Song of Redemption by Lynn Austin
7. An Elegant Façade by Kristi Ann Hunter
8. Sons of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bischof
9. Finders Keepers by Sarah Monzon
10.Among the Poppies by J'nell Ciesielski

That is the one we've read :) We haven't read her most recent release, A Refuge Assured, or any of her books about the Civil War, I don't believe.

Actually, the other Green book I need to get to is Yankee in Atlanta. Does anyone know if that can stand alone? It's a book three, I believe.
Yankee in Atlanta (Heroines Behind the Lines, #3) by Jocelyn Green

We have not read that one. I've read the first two Civil War books, and I agree that they could each be read apart from the other with no problem.

Awesome! I nominate Yankee in Atlanta, then. Thanks, y'all!!

Sarah wrote: "I'd like to nominate Days Of Watershed: Pivotal Faith That Shapes Our Lives"

Hi, Sarah, I'm afraid this nomination won't work - it appears to be non-fiction, and it hasn't been out the required 3 months (looks like it was published in August). So sorry, do feel free to nominate another title!

Hi Beth, I know the author (my dad), so I can confirm that it is fiction. However, I understand about the 3 month requirement. Sorry I miscalculated!

Hi, Rheetha! Normally the nominations close on the 15th, but since I was delayed in starting the poll, I'll add Among the Poppies to the nomination list. :)
