Sarah Madison (akasarahmadison) | 7 comments While attempting to update covers on some books, I realized that none of my Dreamspinner Press titles have working Amazon links from my author page. My self-published titles links are working.

Is anyone else experiencing this? DSP says that I need to talk to a librarian to solve the issue.

Here is the link to my author page: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated--thank you!

Abcdarian | 23348 comments I think the problem is at Amazon. I checked Unspeakable Words and the paperback edition link works, but not the kindle/s. There's a link from the paperback page on Amazon to the kindle, but that's hardly helpful to a buyer. I don't think there's anything we can do this end.

I've seen this a couple of times lately with other author's books, where the kindle can only be reached through a printed book page. Amazon should probably be apprised of the situation.

I don't. The Amazon button works fine for the current Kindle edition, this one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

However, that is not the default edition of the work. An ebook edition, with an ISBN not available on Amazon, is the current default. And the Amazon button won't work for it.

Sarah, as the author, you have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Abcdarian | 23348 comments The Amazon link doesn't work for me for the current edition.

Sandra | 26902 comments No it doesn't work for me either ~ Sorry page not found.

If I put the asin in it comes up. But I did that yesterday for another book and it didn't come up at all. And yet, another librarian found it under the paper edition - presumably going to all formats.

Renske | 11543 comments Would it be related to this issue in the Feedback group https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ?

message 7: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 26902 comments Could be Renske.

As to my post #5, just had another request in the librarian group and if the person hadn't included an amazon link, I never would have found the edition they were after.

I couldn't find it anywhere on the site. Looked at asin; looked at other formats; on the actual edition it had a box saying it was no longer available & to check for newer editions. However, if one person can see it, why can't I?

Link to the post attached.

Abcdarian | 23348 comments The link in your other post (for the audible audio) takes me to the hardcover page, with no link to audible audio anywhere.

Are these issues happening for any librarians in the U.S.? Those of us who have posted seem to be elsewhere.

Sandra | 26902 comments Yes, I never go to the correct edition any more, even kindles go to paperback or hardcover editions.

I'd be interested in the countries affected as well.

The other person's link takes me to the audible asin edition.

Sarah Madison (akasarahmadison) | 7 comments This looks like it will solve both the problem of the book cover update as well as the link issue--but should I 'combine editions" or make the newer one default? I don't want to lose my old reviews--thanks!

Sarah Madison (akasarahmadison) | 7 comments Never mind, I think I answered my own question. I'm going to try switching editions and see what happens. Not sure why it affected all my titles with Dreamspinner--not just the ones that were updated recently, but I appreciate the input--thanks, everyone!

Sandra | 26902 comments Sarah, whenever switching defaults or combining or merging, reviews take a day or two to catch up as they are heavily cached. Just so you know & don't panic.

Sarah Madison (akasarahmadison) | 7 comments Thanks, Sandra--I appreciate the heads up.

I wasn't sure what was best to do--whether I should combine editions or just make the kindle version the default option. In the end, I just defaulted to the newer edition. But thanks very much!
