Gormenghast /ˈɡɔːrmənˌɡɑːst/ is a fantasy series by British author Mervyn Peake, about the inhabitants of Castle Gormenghast, a sprawling, decaying, gothic-like structure. 505 pages

I am planning on taking this book and Titus Groan with me when I go on vacation in October. They will make great airplane books and I know I will enjoy them since I liked the first book in the series.

I have read about 70 pages and this book is even stranger than Titus Groan.
I am really curious as to what will happen. Titus is now a child who sees ghosts and Steerpike is more devious than ever.

I have read 80% of the book and the action really has picked up after the halfway point. I am enjoying the strange atmosphere and also the change in Titus as he grows up, and rebels against, that oppressive atmosphere.
