message 1: by Jen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jen | 111 comments 5* - I absolutely loved this. It's a tightly written, somewhat suffocating portrait of inner turmoil, the pull of desire, conflicting identities... all set in boozy 1950's Paris. The atmosphere alone would make this a worthwhile read, but it's the amazing insight it gives into an intense male love affair, set in a dangerous time and place, and its consequences for everyone involved that makes it special.

Jen, if you haven't moved this, you may want to. It is not the official review topic.
