What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

UNSOLVED: One specific book > David(?) discovers he's psychic in a world with 4 branches of psychic power including manipulators, and some people can access all of them (rarely). Love interest is a 'brute' (can enhance muscle power). Possibly an E-Book.

When did you read it?
Author female or male?

message 3: by Noah (new)

Noah | 15 comments I think the author was male.

Noah | 15 comments Read it about 2 years ago if I reca correctly.

Noah | 15 comments Recall, rather. Also, the main characters first display of power is using Telekinesis to accidentally start a fire. Also, he himself can use all the powers and is probably one of the strongest people in the series. There are multiple books.

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 181 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

Noah | 15 comments There were also at least 2 other people who could use every branch of psychic power and access entirely new powers. One of them was I believe named Rex, and the other was a main villain. The main character was taught by an individual who was shrouded in mystery how to teleport with his powers. Never finished the series so I don’t know who he was. Also, when accessing their power most people would describe the amount of power they have as a kind of container, like a small bowl, while the main character described his power as an ocean. I still haven’t figured out what the name of this book is, after all this time.

Noah | 15 comments Maybe the MC’s name wasn’t even David :/

message 10: by Noah (new)

Noah | 15 comments It’s been so long that I’m not sure anymore.

message 11: by Noah (new)

Noah | 15 comments Oh, and the mother of the Mc was telekinetic.

SBC (essbeecee) | 989 comments Can we rule out Anne McCaffrey's Talent series?

message 13: by Noah (new)

Noah | 15 comments From the synopsis, doesn’t sound like it.

Noah | 15 comments Also, I meant that I don’t think the book is anything by Anne McCaffrey

I added a question mark after "David" in the topic header.

What's the gender of the main character's love interest?

message 17: by Noah (new)

Noah | 15 comments Female

Ayshe | 4326 comments Hard Magic maybe?

message 19: by Noah (new)

Noah | 15 comments That’s not it. This world is essentially the normal world in modern day + psychic powers. There’s definitely no magic.

Tiffany (driftwinds) | 6 comments The Thought Readers

Maybe this series? It sounds very similar and the main character is named Darren...

I can tell you that the main character wasn't out of high school yet.
