Sushicat | 805 comments It’s rather strange to read a book introducing a character I know so well from the films. I was strangely disappointed and surprised at the same time. Clearly for me the book Bond resembles most closely Sean Connery. The mysoginy was even stronger in the book than in the films. What impressed me was the introspection I had not expected, which gave the character plausibility. The plot is rather simplistic though.

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 7784 comments I have never read an Ian Fleming book, and I honestly have only watched maybe one or two movies from start to finish (though if Idris Elba is the next Bond as is the rumor then I will certainly be adding to the list!).

I think the most interesting thing about Ian Fleming is that he was a real spy!

I can only imagine the misogyny that runs rampant in the books. I always think these stories would be a great HBO spoof series in which the women are given more credit and would show that Bond was really a bumbling fool who just thought he was amazing! lol.
