Steve Best | 333 comments I own a copy of this book:
0586039899 (ISBN13: 9780586039892)

My cover (currently not on GR)
https://www.goodreads.com/photo/user/...

This is the first Panther printing, artwork by Peter Jones with this ISBN. I would suggest using this cover and ISBN for the first printing? (June 1975)

Reprints: with the same ISBN & cover artist

November 1978 (Same Cover as my copy)

1979 (This cover) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

1980 printed by Panther / Granada (This cover) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

This cover was also used for reprints in 1982, 1983, 1985 (Panther) & 1986, (Grafton)

All editions are Paperback 252 Pages.

Cheers
Steve

Emily | 69 comments Hi Steve,

I've gone ahead and added an edition with the cover provided. You may see the edition here:

Michael Korleone (michaelkorleone) | 3881 comments Even this edition has the same ISBN (different cover to Steve's) but it is not easily found by users because ACE editions are not cross-linked.

That's why it helps everyone if alternate cover editions are cross-linked and ISBNs mentioned in their descriptions (wherever they cannot be done so in ISBN fields).

Steve Best | 333 comments Thanks Emily
After my initial post I came across another thread about applying duplicate ISBN's to the latest edition. I'm not sure I can see the logic in this.
I assume the coding will not allow duplicate ISBN's to be entered. However this should be easy to change, with perhaps a warning box to assist a librarian if they wish to continue adding another copy (reprint etc). A search for an ISBN by the general public could then display a list of results ( eight in this case) where the user can easily select their own copy.

As much as GR is a great source of info I will admit to it being a little messy at times.

Cheers
Steve

However, this group is not the place to make feature requests, bug reports, etc.

That would be either the Feedback Group or via the Contact Us link.

Closing thread.
