Rowan and Aedion's relationship changes over the course of the story going from rivals to brothers in arms. Thoughts?
Aedion is also revealed to be Gavriel's son. Thoughts?

I think all it took for the two to work things out was to work together like they did so they could see what each other were made of. It was a trust issue revolving around Aelin and each of them thinking they could watch over her better.
I loved to thought that Aedion is Gavriel's son. I was shocked, but happy about. Gavriel is loyal to Rowan and helped him and Aelin out quite a bit.

I enjoyed the rivalry and it led to some good banter between the two. However, they got over their differences when it mattered and that was great because things could have gone very badly if they were still at odds when it counted.

Yes, the twist that Aedion is Gavriel's son was great. That is one revelation/reunion that will be very compelling.
