Is anybody else here an Introvert like me? I am definitely an Introvert! I prefer being with a small group of people that I feel close to and I feel very comfortable in my own space and doing things on my own, without ever feeling lonely. The thought of small talk or going to a big and busy party exhausts me, but I will go if I have to. My boyfriend is also definitely an introvert but my best friend is an extrovert, so she finds some of my habits "weird" haha.

What about you? Do you feel that you are definitely one or the other, or maybe a bit of both? When did you find out about the difference between the two?

Jemma (captainjemima) | 61 comments I am definitely an introvert! I have extrovert friends with similar tendencies to me so we get on well. My partner is an introvert but doesn't mind being the centre of attention for a little while. I like meeting new people, especially to talk about things I'm interested in, however parties where I don't really know anyone and large groups of acquaintances make me feel anxious! I'm definitely all about the recharge after seeing people.

Lou | 25 comments I am definitely an introvert, but seem to attract many extroverted friends. I am much more comfortable connecting with people in a one on one setting, or in small groups as the way I like to be present with the people I care about is very draining. Feel like I could nap for several days after any large social event.
Although an interesting note is that there are a very small number of very close friends that I can be around and not feel the drain at all, even when with them for extended periods of time. I got very lucky with these few.

Jemma (captainjemima) | 61 comments Emma I really resonate with what you say, "the way I like to be present with the people I care about is very draining". This is so me. I put a lot of energy into socialising one-on-one or in small groups.

It's interesting that you say some people don't drain you. I think only a couple of people, my closest friends, don't have that effect on me!

Kelsey (kelso30) | 82 comments Mostly Introvert. I'm awful if I'm meeting someone new, or am at a party where I don't know anyone. Also if I go somewhere new its not ok, lol. But when I'm around people I know well I will get all extrovert crazy, I talk loud and have hyper conversations.

Oh yes, meeting someone new can be the worst! I am absolutely terrible at small talk!

A Paperbound Life (eesweij) I am definitely an introvert although a highly functioning one. I can easily talk to strangers if its purely professional. It gets hard when I want people to like me. Then I get really weird and can't talk

Everyone is surprised that I work as a book seller because I am usually not a people person. But I love talking about books and helping people find a book for themselves or as a present. So I love my job.

Do you find it tempting to just buy loads of books? I know I would haha.

Well actually I buy tons of books. I have given into the temptation like the first month. I actually have an office just for my books and my craft supplies.

Well that's the dream!!

Natalie (naneety) I am, what I have heard called, an extroverted intovert. I like being around people and having friends, but oh man, for a time limit. I have to go home and be alone to recharge. My sacred spaces are the shower and my commute (I listen to audiobooks), especially since I am a teacher. I am working on slowly turning the gym into one, but that process is a little painful.

Creative Orange (Rumell Khan) (rkrespectedmember) I am a 90% introvert. I hate people.

Or you are just an introvert. Introverts would still interact with people. They are just comfortable with small amount of people. There's no such thing as an extroverted-introvert.
