Lisa | 4 comments Hi there,

Looking for a fiction book I read about 10 years ago. Main character (female) is an archaeologist. It's set in a major city (I want to say NY). It has a Pendergast-ish feel to it. I remember that she dies in the end..

Sorry, not much to go on!

Well Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (creators of Pendergast) did also create the archaeologist character Nora Kelly, who appears in some Pendergast novels and also in the freestanding Thunderhead, but that one is set in Utah and New Mexico. Nora's husband, a recurring character in the Pendergast series, does die in one of the books. I think Nora then moves from New York to New Mexico. If she dies in one of the books, I haven't read it yet.
