YA fiction book about the kids battling viruses and stuff on the internet

I can vaguely remember the details of this book. The book centers around a group? of kids who get sucked? into the internet/net/cyber/data to fight viruses and stuff i believe. I think i read the book in the late 90's early 00's and the book cover was silver/grey with a pixelated black skull in the middle of the cover. The book was paperback.
