Kirsten (kmcripn) Wow! Just found a copy of Silas Marner by George Eliot on sale at Audible.com for 99 cents!

Narrated by Andrew Sachs (played Manuel on Fawlty Towers).

Leslie | 825 comments I loved the character Manuel - especially that episode about his rat named Basil!!

$0.99 is a great price for a professionally narrated audiobook - you got a steal Kirsten!

That is a bargain. It's £14.99 in the UK, about $20

Leslie | 825 comments I found this page on Amazon for $0.99 audiobooks when you "buy" the free Kindle book. There are several books from the list - I got The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Fay Roberts | 363 comments Hey guys - I’ve been using this site lately to get a few of our reads digitally https://openlibrary.org/

I use an app on my Kindle Fire that lets me download them to a portable device and at the end of 11 days they expire. Alternatively you can read them online.

Marilyn | 50 comments Death at the President's Lodging is a Kindle countdown deal at 99 cents for 3 more days. It was one of the few books on the Crime list that I couldn't find at my libraries.

I checked to see if the deal was on in the UK and it was so it's now locked and loaded.

Christopher (Donut) | 235 comments If memory serves, this is the GR group where I was complaining about the price of the e-book for Non-Stop.

(It was something like $13.50 at the time)

Not a great deal, or anything, but this price recently went to $9.99, which is what I would term "non-outrageous."

So there's that. Sold American.

Leslie | 825 comments I found a site where you can read Hergé's Tintin books online for free. 3 of these comic books (or graphic novels if you prefer) are on the list (issues #9, #20 and #21).

You have to scroll down a bit to get to the "episode" list and I found that the list isn't in numerical order but all of the issues appear to be there.
