Authors who want changes in Goodreads policy, need to post to the Goodreads Author Feedback group at https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... which is an official author suggestions group. Goodreads Authors/Readers is not an official group.

As a blogger who wins books on GR giveaways, I have to say that this would probably be a beneficial rule change. Starting this year I have been trying to prioritize my giveaway wins for reviews, but I get behind due to other review commitments. If I knew that I had to post a review by a specific date, I would schedule the review like I do requests from publishers and publicists.

It's not against Goodreads TOS. Goodreads may be owned by Amazon, but it's a separate entity with separate rules.

J. Daniel Layfield (jdaniellayfield) | 8 comments Most authors asking for reviews are looking to get them on Amazon. I just thought it was worth pointing out that any requirement for leaving a review would make that review ineligible to be posted on Amazon.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 2165 comments Given Amazon's recent crackdown on removing book reviews, this really isn't a good idea, even more then when it was originally posted.
