I usually try to post this on Thursday night KST because it's Thursday for everyone then, but I'm a little early today (still Thursday here!). Happy Wednesday to people in North America.

Getting to the actual point of this discussion, what were your favourite three books you read in July?

Hey it's Thursday here too :-). Haha I'm in the future to you Jenna.

I got a ton of reading done in July.

1. Of course it's Malazan Dust of Dreams. If you thought Deadhouse Gates and Memories of Ice could tear you apart. Just wait for this book.
2. Blood on the Tracks was a fantastic first in series contemporary mystery book. The lead character has PTSD and it's all very much a part of her everyday life.
3. Speaks the Nightbird historical mystery and as a first in series, I definitely plan to continue.

Bill | 2130 comments No 5* books this month for me.

1. The Shepherd's Crown by Terry Pratchett - really nice ending to the series.

2. Od Magic by Patricia A. McKillip - not sure how to describe it but I like the feel of her books.

3. Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews - another good entry in the series.

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) | 2317 comments The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - it's the first time that I liked Edmund but then movie did a poor job of telling what happened when he first ventured into Narnia.

The Fires of Heaven - looooong and boring middle chapters but climax was fabulous.

Changes - fantastic.

Three 5*'s.

1. Death's End - Terrific ending to a great trilogy.

2. Khan: Empire of Silver - 4th book of the series and once again a 5*

3. House of Chains - I don't usually do rereads in threads like this but even though this was a 5* the first time it was much better upon reread where I picked up so much I missed the first time around.

3. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Virginie | 5795 comments Three 5*s for me in July!

1. Age of War
2. Succubus Revealed
3. Wolfsong

Honorable mentions:
No Good Dragon Goes Unpunished (Heartstrikers, #3) by Rachel Aaron Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews Sword of Destiny (The Witcher, #2) by Andrzej Sapkowski

message 10: by Bea (new)

Bea | 2052 comments I had 3 five star reads in July (which hasn't happened since I'm on GR, it was a good month!):

Beyond Redemption

Godsgrave

The Library at Mount Char

message 11: by Narilka (new)

Narilka | 2476 comments Only one 5* read for me this month, which was:

14 by Peter Clines - I love the world he's created with this and The Fold. His style of scifi/thriller with a touch of horror is right up my alley.

For my other two:
Fate's Edge by Ilona Andrews - Ilona Andrews. Need I say more?

The Dispatcher by John Scalzi - A seriously cool concept as a backdrop for a missing person mystery.

message 12: by Miche (new)

Miche | 2939 comments 5 stars:

Dust of Dreams
Beyond Redemption

Honorable mention: Kate Daniels series. Loved all of them.
