SOLVED. Children's book (from a series) about an annoying little sister and a wedding on the close-knit street. [s]

In the early-to-mid 1990s, I owned a children's chapter book that was part of a series. If I recall, the series was about a tight-knit community, and focused on the children.

The book in particular that I had, was about a girl and her younger sister, and the younger sister copied everything - there was a particular instance where the older sister put her hair in a side ponytail, and the younger sister said it looked like a paintbrush. The older sister retaliated by saying the younger sister's longer hair looked like a broom. Also in this book, there were two adults that lived on the street that were getting married, so a lot of the plot was the street getting ready for the wedding. At the wedding, three of the children (including the older sister) read the Apache wedding blessing.

I never read any of the other books in the series, so I couldn't tell you what any of the other books were about, or any of the other characters. Hopefully someone is able to help me out!! :)
