Thriller (horror?) about traumatized professional photographer going on vacation

Uhm, mostly what I wrote in the title, the woman who was a photographer is taken on vacation with her friends (in a jeep iirc) after she was traumatized at seeing dead babies on her last job. Apparently there was a disease (?) spreading around the place she was going on vacation though, and I think it was spread by the same people who killed the babies? I don't remember much more than that though.
I do remember I read it a couple years ago, and the lady who let me borrow it mostly had books from the 60s-80s, but also up to the early 2000s iirc?
