Welcome Diana! I remember trying to get my boys to nap at the same time, and I confess to using the TV to keep them occupied while I read in the next room. Lately I've been listening to books on tape at night instead of watching TV. You can read a lot that way (and it's better for your brain to avoid the lights of electronic devices before sleep). What do you like to read? Little Women is one of the books we're reading now.
I didn't know about The Grreat American Read until I found a post of NancyJ's in another group, that led me here.What a cool idea! Were there radio or television episodes that went along with the GAR?

There was, possiby the episodes are still up. Nancy posted a link to the website.
There was a kickoff episode for one hour in the spring, a reminder episode in the fall that re-hashed a lot of that material, and then 5 episodes, one for each theme.
