Side note: there's a guy named Calvin Ball running for County Exec in the county where I grew up. I can't see signs for him without thinking of a six year old and his tiger playing a game without rules. https://votecalvinball.com/

There some great information contained in that thread. A very enjoyable read.

Calvin Ball?
http://calvinandhobbes.wikia.com/wiki...

Calvinball is a game invented by Calvin and Hobbes. Calvinball has no rules; the players make up their own rules as they go along, making it so that no Calvinball game is like another.

Rules cannot be used twice (except for the rule that rules cannot be used twice), and any plays made in one game may not be made again in any future games. The game may involve wickets, mallets, volleyballs, and additional sports-related equipment.

There is only one permanent rule in Calvinball: players cannot play it the same way twice. For example, in one game of Calvinball, the goal was to capture the opponent's flag, whereas in a different game of Calvinball, the goal was to score points by hitting badminton shuttlecocks against trees using a croquet mallet. Masks must be worn at all times in Calvinball; these are not allowed to be questioned.

That was always my favorite from the funnies. The "sequel" stories are good, but not the same. I'm currently in my own re-election for Dad campaign. It's hard when my opponent is Fortnite.

Logan5jr | 25 comments +1 Dara for recommending The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal . At 10% I knew why she liked it. It would make a great Laser monthly read. By-the-way I've already picked up the second book. The Fated Sky

+1 Trike for seconding the recommendation and exposing their world domination plan. I upgraded my Kindle from 2gb to the 32gb model, recommend away :-p

Dara (cmdrdara) | 2693 comments Points have to go to Trike for The Calculating Stars. The book was on my radar for a while but his review is what really drove me to read it.

Honestly, I don't care how people find the book as long as they do. It's magnificent and I'm glad you're enjoying it so much!

Despite Tom’s heavy thumb on the scale, I am enjoying this competition immensely. All according to plan.

Dara (cmdrdara) | 2693 comments It's time for a story, friend. Gather 'round, gather 'round.

So not too long ago I increased my Patreon pledge to the $10/episode level. I am now a Lem's Library Cardholder and yesterday I got my first random mail from Tom! The Dinosaur Lords arrived in my mailbox and I am very excited to read it. Each chapter has a drawing of a dinosaur and a description.

From chapter one:
"Tricornio, Three-horn, Trike -- triceratops horridus. Largest of the widespread hornface (ceratpsian) family of herbivorous, four-legged dinosaurs with horns, boney neck-frills, and toothed beaks; 10 tonnes, 10 meters long, 3 meters at the shoulder. Non-native to Nuevaropa. Feared for the lethality of their long browhorns as well as their belligerent eagerness to use them."

Trike?! In the very first chapter?? This is either a crazy random happenstance or Tom trolled me expertly and has thrown down on the side of Trike.

No matter the case, I was tickled when I saw it. +4,000 to Tom.
