I read a book about a woman who lives with her roommate. the main character talks to her mother who is in prison on the phone every wednesday. she drinks all the time. there was a fire when she was a kid. she dates this guy. twists at the end. its an adult book- not YA.
It is similar to :the woman in the window.
it is not the girl in cabin 10, the girl on the train, the couple next door,

Apart from the roommate this sounds a lot like Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, though it's not really a thriller.
