On the way she’s held in a dark cart when the drivers stop for a break she talks to someone, has a mark on her arm or something.
At the prison the food drains your memory till the people become slaves
The person she talked to notifies whoever it was she asked them to, and that person goes through the woods risks his/her life to rescue her and the person who is traveling with them as well.
