Gordon Kaplan | 22 comments I borrowed Eric Ambler's book, Epitaph for a Spy through my inter-library loan system.

My copy is published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1952 (March 10, 1952). The title-verso shows not ISBN. I assume that's because ISBNs did not exist in 1952. My copy has 260 pages. (The last page is not numbered. My copy also has a three-page unnumbered "footnote" by the author following page 260.

Here is the inter-library loan record:

Thank you.

Olivia (livka) | 7927 comments Hi Gordon,
I added this edition from AbeBooks:
https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Book...
here:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Does it match the one you had, so I will know if I'm adding the page count to the correct edition?

I can't say about the cover, because my copy has been rebound, but the imprint is correct.

I should have mentioned in my original message that my copy shows a Library of Congress Catalog Card Number of 51-13217. That should identify the book even more.

Thank you, Olivia.
