At the beginning of this book, a girl kills (shoots him with an arrow) a guard that a (fae?) prince sent to find her. The guard knew he would die because it was prophesied but was going to help his prince save the kingdom. The prince was angry and sad but needed the girl. I think I remember the prince taking her to a different world.
