Hi Summer! As you write/edit your comment, there is a small link just above the comment box that says “add book/author” and it allows you to choose either the book cover or the hyperlink. I’ve found that this only applies when you use an internet browser. For some reason, this feature is not available in the app, neither on apple nor android.

Johnni Quest (johnniquest) | 1226 comments Hey guys,

Anyone else just waking up?

description

If I could bathe in my tea this morning, I would!

It's 8:40am where I am and I'm getting ready to go to the farmer's market before coming home and getting some reading in. I've been in a bit of a reading slump, but last Saturday was my birthday and I got a Kindle, so I'm going to try reading on that outside in the sun today :D I've never really been an e-reader before, generally preferring physical books or audio books, but I am excited to read some things that are only available digitally!

What time is it where you are? What plans do you have today? What are you going to read?

Johnni, I am so glad you have a Kindle, I absolutely love mine. It is true, I have been able to download complete works of authors, such as Dickens, the Brontes, Tolstoy, Arthur Conan Doyle, very inexpensively. Not only is it hard to find complete works in the bookstores, or local libraries, but it is so much more costly.

Two features that I love about the Kindle store (I am sure it's the same for the Nook): One, the reviews; two to see what others who have bought the same book I have purchased.

I got the new Kindle for Christmas and truth is, I kind of like the older versions better. This may be why I've been doing physical and audio this year.

It's 1:52pm. I woke up an hour ago. Stayed up all night--Taylor Swift concert and went to the shore, which was a fiasco. (Jersey shore drama has always been real, way before that show!) Got into bed at 6am and immediately passed out.
Up now, have some caffeine and will hopefully get lots of reading done today. There are supposed to be thunderstorms and rain for a week so I don't have anything else planned.

Why on Earth did I just ramble off that whole story? lol

Anyway, happy belated birthday, I hope you got some yummy stuff at the farmer's market and I hope you enjoy your Kindle!

Leticia (leticiatoraci) | 416 comments I got three new books and two audiobooks in the library on saturday and I'm travelling away in two weeks, so I'm crazy LOL. I'll see what I can do in these two weeks but I'll have to give it all back because I won't be here to give the books back after four weeks. (dork face emoticon in here)

Trisha | 325 comments Johnni, I’m so sorry. I love readathons but have hardly read anything this weekend. I’m staying with friends & have spent my time socialising, swimming etc instead of reading. I expected to have some reading time but it hasn’t worked out. I’ll get back to reading next time around.

There's never a need to apologize for not reading when you were planning on it! We're here to have fun and meet our own expectations.

My expectations for everyone is to have a good time this weekend and maybe read a few extra pages if they can, but no one is here to judge you!

Even readers need a little social time every once in a while ;)

Brenda | 16 comments Well, I'm done for the weekend. Didn't get many pages in as other life events took over. I haven't did a readathon in a while - it's always fun to see what others are reading. To those still trying to reach their goals - good luck but most of all have fun!
Thanks

Thanks Johnni for this Read-A-Thon. Although I didn't read as much as I would have liked, because of two upcoming dinner parties that I have to host, I still read some, and made progress in a couple of books, about which I am very pleased.
