September in The Parlor -- Update

A pleasant surprise -- I put a feeler out to an author whose cozy is releasing late this month and asked that if our group agreed to read her book in Sept. (or Oct.), would she join us for the usual author attended discussion. Not only did she accept, she said she'd do a little fall giveaway.

The book is Halloween House by Kathi Daley. The synop reads very autumn-y, seems to have earned good (early) reviews and just looks an all around festive mystery.

Yes, we normally have the voting process for our reads but if we could cut to chase for Sept. and we agree to jump on this title and opportunity (she has a busy fall w/tour, new release etc.), that'd be great and we'd have Sept. nailed. If no, we can still go through the reg. process. No problem.

Not a huge hurry but I said I would let her know in about a week's time. Think about it, see how you feel, post your thoughts or reply. As for Oct., we could return to reg. voting process.

It is, NicoleG and I thought as rapid readers you lot are, if anyone wants to catch up on a book or two, there'd be plenty of time to do that.

What a nice author. Another one who loves her fans and is quite accommodating. Wish we were doing this in August. lol But no worries, things are not ready to launch in Aug.

Linda, we hope you'll stick 'round for Oct. as well for The Parlor PI's take autumn and Halloween quite seriously and intend on reading more fall mysteries in 2018. Hopefully you'll introduce us to some new mystery fare we can consider for the season. Then there's winter and Christmas months to celebrate. Love this time of year!
