Using citrus peels, vinegar and other items in clever ways is essential in a home that doesn't use chemicals, or minimises their use.

Post your favourite tips and articles here. Also recommend books on the topic.

This article is about using kitchen scraps, not always in the kitchen.

This article explains some of the chemicals that might get into a home, like PBCs, pesticide residue and hormone disruptors, and suggests how to remove them or stop them getting into your body.

The main tips would be to avoid plastic containers, new soft furnishings, dry cleaning and - of course - to swop some of your shopping to organic produce.
Different countries will have different levels considered suitable for sale. The EU does not allow animal growth promoting hormone to be given to animals. America does.
