Allow me to give you an official welcome to the Great American Read List group, Rosina, and also thank you for creating a personal bookshelf!

I love that you used a random number generator to choose your side-reads!
Another group of which I'm a member has been using this method for their polls for the past ten years (since 2008) and it's worked incredibly well. A decade later, they have 16,480 members! I've always admired the organization of that group.

I haven't read the Lonesome Dove series nor Jane Eyre yet, but I quite like the 2011 movie adaptation of Jane Eyre starring Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska. Have you seen it?

I have not seen that one. When I was growing up in the
60/70, my mom only let me watch movies from Great Britain (hence my love for PBS). I saw an ancient one and found it very gothic and creepy for a pre teen.

I just have never been able to find a love for the classics, maybe this will be the book that changes my mind.

The Lonesome Dove miniseries is so good. The two characters played by Robert Duvall & Tommy Lee Jones are so wonderful. Hope the series elaborates more on their characters.

Tasha I love the random generator idea as well! That is a fun idea.

I loved Lonesome Dove, it's such a good read Well worth the time invested. I've read Jane Eyre too and that was good as well. Some great picks by the RG!

I think I've only seen that one movie adaptation of Jane Eyre. Maybe I'll look for older versions after our group reads that list book. It's fun to watch on-screen afterwards; sometimes it enhances the overall experience of a story.

I've never read nor watched Lonesome Dove. Sounds like I've been missing out!
