Read for 2018's #42: A book that takes place in, on, or underwater.

THIS BOOK. WAS SO. GOOD.

It was a tough read, being in the head of someone with schizophrenia, and at one point, the point of view switched to second person, meaning it was saying things like "You know they will try to get you", putting the reader squarely in the character's mind. But whew. I'm so glad I read this.

Chrissy | 932 comments I listened to this on audio, and while I didn’t really enjoy the process, I did think it was good. Just kind of a hard story, and not what I was expecting from YA I guess. I wonder if this was one where I would have been bettter off reading it on the page? But the voices for the parrot and all were pretty good actually.

Sophie (sawphie) | 2847 comments I started it today and already read almost 20%, which is the most I’ve read in a single day in month! I guess this isn’t going to be an easy read but at least I find it really interesting up until now and it pulled me in big time.
