Susi Johnston (susijohnston) | 2 comments Recent Fiction. Set in American Westward Movement. Involves Photography and Relationship. One-Word Title (e.g., Aperature, Exposure, something like that).

I'm desperately seeking a novel my late husband gave me to read about ten years ago. It was recent fiction. Set in the American west. Followed a photographer. Had many aspects of photography as metaphors for key themes in the novel. Definitely not a "mass-market" work.

Any thoughts?

Susi, does the story flip between two time periods ("contemporary fiction" and "American Western Movement")? Around what year in the past?

Can you tell us more about the photographer - gender, hometown, rich/poor, family/friends, etc.? Is romance part of the story?
