Rebecca | 2 comments Hi, I wondered if you could help
I read this book when I was quite young so about 10 or so years ago,
all I can remember is this: a boy moves to a town where his uncle lived because his uncle died, in the house, there was a talking Barracuda fish hanging on the wall; his uncle's ghost came back and there was treasure involved
I vividly remember a fight scene between the uncle ghost and another ghost and the fight saying that if you die as a ghost you disappear forever
there was also a large map a the front of the book of the town which was pretty cool.
the book didn't see, that old - I believe it was in a set of perhaps three but I may be wrong, and I remember buying all of them.
I don't know where it was set - but western areas it was my favourite book as a little girl and I'm gutted that I threw it out!

Something Wickedly Weird is most definitely here! Crampton Rock seems like a lovely seaside town…at least until dark. When eleven-year-old Stanley Buggles inherits a house from a mysterious uncle he didn't know he had, he also inherits a mystery and some strange and sinister new neighbors. The questions begin to pile up: Why are all the dogs in town three-legged? Why is no one on the streets after dark? Is it true that the man who runs the candy shop is a werewolf? And why do those shoemakers look an awful lot like pirates? With the help of Mrs. Carelli, a housekeeper, and a talking stuffed fish, Stanley begins to unravel the mysteries that haunt his great-uncle's death and have set their sights on him. A thrilling, spooky, and funny read, and the first installment of a kid-pleasing new series.
