Stefan | 5 comments Any news on the Cain series or the gaunts ghost series?

message 4: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Murphy | 104 comments Cain series just got an audio drama, so they are closer to being able to do another omnibus.
Warmaster by Dan Abnett is slated to come out sometime in 2015, though that really all depends on when Abnett feels like writing 40K again/has time to write it again.

Chris Quinn | 20 comments What is the Eagles Talon audio going to be about?

Garry | 36 comments Chris wrote: "What is the Eagles Talon audio going to be about?"

It looks like both stories in The Eagles Talon/Iron Corpses will be about Tallarn.

Can't wait for that anthology!
Also, if anyone is interested, I started a BL page on facebook with news and rumors, new releases, discussions and what not.

Chris Quinn | 20 comments Black Library are really pumping out the releases recently. It's getting hard to keep up between novels, short stories and audio books.

It is, that's why I started the FB page as well. To help everyone know what is available.

message 14: by Garry (new)

Garry | 36 comments Does anyone have any information on a Horus Heresy short story called "Heart of the Conqueror" by Aaron Dembski-Bowden?

I can't find any information on it except that it is about 2 pages long and that it's supposed to be about a loyalist navigator working inside the World Eaters fleet. The setting is supposed to be just after the events in Betrayer.

The story was part of the event program for the 2014 Horus Heresy Weekender event back in may. I'm really curious to find out more on this story.

message 15: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments Hi garry
Nothing much happens in heart of the conqueror given its length.
Basically the navigator on The Conqueror is driven pretty much insane by deamon Angron and commits suicide as an act of defiance stranding the world eaters flag ship in real space....which is pretty easy to resolve I guess.

message 16: by Garry (new)

Garry | 36 comments Thanks Marc. I was begining to doubt the existence of this short story.

message 17: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Murphy | 104 comments I will have the story in November, if anyone would like pictures of it, to read :p

Dylan Murphy | 104 comments Dylan wrote: "I will have the story in November, if anyone would like pictures of it, to read :p"

Buddy of mine forgot to ship it when he picked up Sedition's Gate and Damnation of Pythos for me. lol
So I have to get it when I am on my way to the weekender with him in November.

Speaking of, I have a little bit of room in my luggage if anyone wants anything.
It'll be asking a lot of trust, as I would need the money before the event, but I wouldn't mind helping you guys out by getting event exclusives and stuff like that.

I have a buddy that does it for me, since I live in the US.
So I wouldn't mind doing it for a few people.
Just let me know guys!

Ill be going to the weekender, so I will likely pick them up.
I didn't drop $900 on a plane ticket to try and save money on books :p
I was really hoping they would stick to just novels with the FE stuff, and keep them leatherbound, etc.
Guess that isn't the case :p

message 26: by Christian (new)

Christian (zahriel) | 1 comments Very cool! Too bad it's the flesh tearers and not blood angels Q.Q Anyways, it looks pretty good! Looking forward to more if BL are printing others :)

But it comes with a FREE paperback !

I wonder if Phil kellys gonna get a first edition of his tau series.

message 28: by Chris (new)

Goes without saying that you should reach your own opinion.
The main critique of kelly is he ignores how the 40k universe works and ignores canon.
If u like stealth suits surfing thunderhawks, machine gun bolters and plasma and melta weapons that cant crack flak armour he could be the man for u.

message 32: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments Fire caste was amazing.
Its perhaps the grimmest and darkest 40k novel.

Dylan Murphy | 104 comments Marc wrote: "Chris Wrights fall of Altdorf is out next month along with the Chaos end times rule book."

Source?
Also, do you know if any of the other Chaos Gods will be getting any love, or just Nurgle?

message 35: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments Source is the november release listing.
Not sure if any other powers will be getting anything.
since we got empire and chaos characters in rise of nagash is other armies may get something.
Less solid rumour but a red shirt at my locak store says nick kyme has written the tie in novel for the 3rd end times book....its elves vs deamons.

Slightly cheaper price point for the second rule book £40.

message 37: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments http://www.amazon.co.uk/End-Times-Boo...

Pretty much no info but its end times book 3 by Gav rather than Nick.
Soft cover release at similar time to Nagash and Fall Of altdorf so this should maybe drop in hardback next month....pre christmas for sure.

Garry | 36 comments Some Horus Heresy news from twitter...

Andy Smillie is doing an audio drama called 'The Herald of Sanguinius'.
Source: https://twitter.com/andysmillie tweeted Nov 8.

Andy Smillie retweeted
Laurie J Goulding @LaurieGoulding · Nov 8
HORUS HERESY LEAK from @AndySmillie - 'The Herald of Sanguinius' audio drama will show the origins of the Sanguinor at Imperium Secundus.

And... Nick Kyme has a book in the pipeline (not sure if it's a novel or novella) called Deathfire. He retweeted the artwork by Neil Roberts for the cover.

message 40: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments Next month (maybe early jan) Guy Haley drops the fourth book. The focus is the skaven invasion of pretty much everywhere, Skarsnik also plays a big part.
I heard rumour that theres supposed to be a novella about Crom vs Valten but that could just be wishlisting.

Good find....pretty excited for the Kharn novel

message 44: by Chris (new)

Chris Quinn | 20 comments Heh, I was thinking the hints given out were leaning very heavily towards Kharn. Anthony Reynolds too, who we know can write Chaos so it should be fun.

Because it isn't on BL yet.
They don't put things up early for the most part.
Amazon has dozens of future releases visible, while BL has very, very little lol

Basically the BL website is the place to go for over priced novellas and quick reads, if you wanna know whats coming out over the next few months then amazon is your best bet.
Amazon already managed to spoil what the next two end times novels where.

Marc Jones | 36 comments Erwin wrote: "In the tabletop wargaming world GW has the biggest stick, outside of it not so much ;-) No matter, I still love me Nottingham peeps, want to ruffle their hair and read their stuff :-P"

At the moment im enjoying War machine a little bit more than 40k but the endtimes has made me revisit warhammer after some time away.
But background-wise Workshop is way ahead of its peers, its a great setting and its ties in fiction is generally of far higher quality than you would expect.

message 48: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments Erwin wrote: "I play and read both WFB and 40K. Let me throw in some heresy while I'm at it: End Times > LOTR. They way Archaon goes order to chaos blows Sauron out of the water, it's much less black-and-white.

The first book of the Archaon duology was awesome but I wouldnt really say Archaon went Chaos, hes playing Chaos to reach his own ultimate goal, Perfect order in the end of all things.

message 49: by Marc (new)

Marc Jones | 36 comments Erwin wrote: "That is true. I didn't word it right. He is a proper complex character. In my world he takes a place next to Malus Darkblade. I have high hopes for the MD book next January."

Curse of Khaine kind of ruined it already :(

True to some degree.
BL does A LOT of exclusive releases. I mean, most of their stuff is either exclusive to BL, or exclusive to them in hardcover(which is my preferred format).

But yeah, I check amazon every couple of weeks to see what is coming.
Though they usually don't have too much info/cover art until closer to release.
