this book was so good - it is very sad that people of that era were so cruel and dishonest and all for the love of $$

This book churned up a lot of different emotions in me- anger,frustration, sadness as well as fascination and amazement.
This is a part of American history that I knew very little about. I was familiar with the Trail of Tears and the Cherokees but not so much so with the situation of the Osage in Oklahoma. The US government surely did little to protect the general welfare of the Native Americans.

Judy, maybe you are trying to read too much philosophy into it.
