1970's fiction about a girl who goes to live with a great aunt or old grandmother or something and she is given a locket. When she squeezes it, a man named Ewen comes to help her. Thought it was called The Goblin Tree or The Elfin Tree, but can't find anything on it! Don't remember the author.

Other than having Ewen coming to help her when she squeezes the locket--what else happens? Is this a mystery, her learning to live with her grand whatever, looking for her parents?
