Bea A member of Seasonal Reading Challenges posted this in our Librarian Help thread. I was not able to figure it all out, and so I am re-posting it here. I hope someone can help.

Book Concierge wrote "Wondering about the "first published date" of this book
Trans-Sister Radio
I have this hardcover edition in my hands and it is shows as "FIRST EDITION" with a copyright of 2000

However, the book shows a "first published date of Aug 12, 1998"
I find this e-book edition Trans-Sister Radio, which seems to have the 1998 date.
But I also find THIS edition: Trans-Sister Radio
A paperback published by 4th Estate- AU ... with an even earlier publication date ... Feb 2, 1990.

Can anyone figure this out?

Thank you in advance."

Sandra | 26902 comments According to the Publisher 4th Estate (HarperCollins Aust) that book was released 28/02/2001, not 1990. Fishpond also listed 1990 but I'm sure they've picked up the date from online incorrect sources.

All the major reviewers, reviewed in 2000, WorldCat lists it as 2000.

Tracking down the Knopf sources.

Sandra | 26902 comments On his website Chris lists Trans-Sister Radio as 2000.

Knopf is part of Penguin Random House they apparently published under the Vintage imprint an audio in 2000, paperback in 2001 & an ebook in 2002.

Those weird isbns of 777097481X & 5551248631 don't actually exist, so any info attached to them can be disregarded. They started popping up about 2 or 3 yrs ago, and are imported by the autobots.

I'll change the original publishing date to 3/5/2000, as per the publishers & the author's websites.

Thanks, Sandra, for the help.
